When exactly can he be fired? The contract runs through the end of the state fiscal year ending June 30th. So at just over $400K per year, the contract is paid out through June 2016. So when someone can come up with $1.4M+ to buy out the contract, he can be fired, because I can't see an Athletic Department in the red buying out the contract. He's the coach until someone presents the money. Remember, it's hard to win when the refs are against your team.

"He's the coach until someone presents the money."
I think we have the '12-'13 season motto. I'm sure it'll be the hottest ticket in town!

2016 attendance in the box score. Didn't look like that while the HLN feed was working.

Some thoughts: A. We got outscored something like 21-2 for the first five minutes of each half. That speaks volumes. B. Haarsma looked decent. C. Our coach sure does sit a lot. D. Cheerleaders and dance team looked good. E. How about a Hack-a-Shaq or something with a 4 minutes left? Geeez... F. Actually had fun at the game! G. We have issues, so many issues.

Two things I noticed during tonight's game:
First, while Jordan Aaron is likely the most physically talented player on the Panthers, the team ran better with Mitch Roelke playing the point. It seems like when Jordan Aaron runs the offense, the possession ends with a long distance (or otherwise low percentage) shot (usually by Aaron himself) or a turnover. When Roelke ran the offense, I noticed we got the ball down low to Kelm and Haarsma and made some high percentage shots. I don't have the exact stat on me, but if I had to guess, the team's point differential with Roelke on the floor tonight was positive and with Aaron on the floor, it was a very negative number.
Second, through this rough stretch (i.e. every game since the Davidson game), the team has seemed very lethargic. The only player has seemed to consistently give any effort at all was Ryan Haggerty. Yet his minutes have gone down significantly. I really don't get it... he reminds me of a taller version of Mark Pancratz, not particularly good at anything but he does the little things well and gave 100% every time he was out on the court. Yet, even with the talented teams in the Bruce Pearl (and first year of Rob Jeter) era, Pancratz played fairly significant minutes. Right now, Haggerty is playing less than 10 minutes a game. Perhaps I'm being too blunt here, but it almost seems like Jeter is punishing effort and rewarding laziness.

They almost made all of their free throws tonight. That's....something. Sorry if I missed it on the board, but is Bobo hurt, or just completely in the doghouse? I don't think he even played a minute tonight.

I don't think he even played a minute tonight. From Todd Rosiak's twitter: "UWM coach Rob Jeter says Thierno Niang is sick, and also nursing a bad back -- hence the reason for his DNP tonight against TT." AND "Niang hasn't practiced for about a month, which has forced walkon Mitch Roelke into the role of Jordan Aaron's backup at PG."

Here's what doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me about our apparent financial straits: UWM has a large number of very wealthy alumni. Among them are major insurance execs (Dennis Glass, Lincoln National) and Ed Zore, former CEO of NMl, utility execs (Gale Klappa, We Energies), and sports management execs - one of whom was the commencement speaker at my graduation, Mike Reinfeldt (GM of the Tennessee Titans). My question is: are these types of people giving money to UWM? How much? If not, why not? Just from personal experience, I don't ever remember receiving a single phone call soliciting donations. Meanwhile, my wife graduated from Whitewater eight years ago and gets hit up for money at least every three months. If anybody who knows a lot more about this can shed any light on this, I'd really be interested to see what the whole fundraising strategy/philosophy is and how successful it's been.

I have 2 degrees from this university. I played intercollegiate athletics for this university. I have lived in the Milwaukee area my entire life. I have been a season ticket holder for men's hoops. I have NEVER been called, emailed, or sent a letter asking for money. If UWM isn't asking me for money who are they asking? Anyone?

McDade:
It's almost unfathomable. All we hear is how many almumni are living in Milwaukee, more alumni than MU or Madison or whatever. Are any of them giving money? Are they being solicited? I have friends with whom I went to high school and UWM who are partners at architecural firms (by the way, one that was founded by a UWM alum), consultants at places like Baker Tilly who are extremely well-paid, a number of attorneys, and reps at places like Merck. I work at a financial services company with a number of executives who graduated from UWM. All of these people are paid well into the six figures, and not one of them, to my knowledge, has ever received a call asking for money. And these are just my friends - I can't imagine it's not similar to many of you on this board. The more I think about this, the more pissed off I'm getting. Who the hell is in charge of this and what's the outreach plan?
