I understand that people gotta make money, but my god, every post Ive read lately, hints at or points to if you were an insider at PantherU then you would know more about what is going on....I thought the whole point of this board was to get people more involved.....im happy for PantherU and all the information it does provide for free, but i think its ridiculous and just turns fans away to charge for an insider account....what differs from the regular post's that are out there....sorry but ill never pay $25 to read something that will end up on here eventually....ESPN insider doesn't even charge that much....if its big enough news it will become public news soon, but i guess we will have to wait for the "insiders" to tell us....

I wouldn't mind having Freddie Owens on our staff, he played at Wisconsin while Rob was an assistant and he's from Milwaukee. Also Mark Pancratz would be an interesting candidate. Not sure if there are other former players that are assistants anywhere, I know Dan Weisse got into coaching but I'm not sure where he is at.

I don't need to see a former Division 1 player take the spot. It could go to any old former graduate assistant, student manager or non-D1 player.
Actually, the preference here is that it goes to a former head coach from any level.

I heard Joah Tucker wants to get into the college coaching ranks.

I wish Joah had a few years of eligibility left.

Panthr2bag - I agree with your feelings on this. I went to PantherU and found no good info unless I paid for it. What's the point of this board, then? I guess it's not enough to buy season tickets, sweatshirts, bring friends, and read this board. I don't think it's a good idea to set up different classes of fans.

I'll stop dropping hints. I understand that rubs some people the wrong way and I'm sorry that I've subjected this board to my shilling. I don't have money to spare to advertise, and seeing as this is my target market, I thought I'd remind people every so often that the information they're looking for is readily available on my site. What confuses me is that some people were happy to let me do the legwork for free for such a long time, and now that I'm graduated and trying to use my education for its intent, all of a sudden I'm the bad guy. I have paying members who are so because they want to continue to have that information. It would be wrong for me to turn around and give everyone the information that they're paying for. It's not many; certainly not as many as I'd like. But these people want to get the news that I'm willing to provide, so the insider information I can provide will remain so. People here love to complain about the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's ho-hum coverage of the program, and I feel that if I can get PantherU going, I can provide that coverage and more. I already am providing news and information that they can't, or rather don't try to provide. Yes, most of what's on the insider section of PantherU will eventually come out - this assistant coach news, personnel in the department, recruiting news - but People across the country pay for this information to services like Scout and Rivals, so why is it ridiculous for someone to pay a fraction of the price of those sites to get the information you can't find anywhere? Marquette's Scout site or Wisconsin's Rivals site will provide news and commentary just like PantherU. However, those sites share the news with everyone who is on the beat for those programs. Who is on the Milwaukee Panther beat? By the way, an ESPN Insider membership for one year is $40, if you get the two-year membership it comes out to $30 per year. Of course, PantherU is more akin to a Rivals or Scout site (with better information), so you might want to compare it to those paid services: Scout.com charges $90 for an annual subscription and Rivals.com charges $100 bucks annually. I'll leave it at this message. I don't want to take up any more of the board's time. If anyone wants to discuss it further with me, PM will suffice.

I guess I just lifted that Jordan Aaron interview off the wire services.
