I just paid $59 for a 2 year subscription to ESPN Insider for my son, an up and coming sports blogster. Black PantherU's info is accurate. I thought it was well worth the cost. $2 a month for the PantherU Insider was also worth the cost, as far as I'm concerned. I'm a fan of the University and its athletic programs. I just want the info as soon as it becomes available. Just a personal choice and my two cents on the issue.

Another possible candidate (possible is the keyword here) could be Mike Bargen. Bargen just finished his sixth season (2006-present) as Head Coach at Butler C.C. in Kansas. Before Bargen’s head coaching stint he was an assistant at Butler C.C. (2004-2006), and a graduate assistant before that under Dana Altman at Creighton (2001-2004). Bargen played collegiate baskeball at Marquette from 1995-1999. His connection to Jeter is that Bargen was a senior at Marquette when Jeter was an assistant coach there for one year, during Mike Deane’s last year at MU. grizzlies.butlercc.edu/basketball/mens/head_coach.cfm

So who is the coach that is leaving?

Mike Bargen is certainly an intriguing candidate to replace the outgoing coach.

Its hard enough to build a community around this team and now we have 2 UWM message boards with the same members? Don't really see the point in fracturing this web community that has been built up on this board for the past decade. (aside from the obvious money reasons).
I understand the desire to get paid but for me, I just don't care enough to pay for it.

I agree, repoman. I visit the board to get the latest scoop on recruiting and team news, not to be teased by the rumblings that only "insiders" know.

I agree, many know who the coach is, but isn't saying. Why?

If Jimmy's reporting it on his site, I guess I have no problem posting it here. Normally, I like to wait until there is an official announcement, but I have heard that the outgoing coach's name rhymes with "Johnny Bones"
I will not speculate in any way on the how and why of this.

Is there an expected date for the official announcement of an assistant coach leaving?
For all of the alleged "changes" in the athletic department there sure has been a lot of silence, at least publicly, from the department.

Personnel matters are nearly always kept quiet as long as possible.
If an assistant coach has actually left, i'm surprised that no official acknowledgment has been made. If someone is on the way out, it's less of a surprise, although it seems a bit previous to be recruiting a replacement before the incumbent has left.
