They likely are in for a rough game, but so were, Bucknell in 2005, Bradley in 2006 and NIU in 2010. UNI. NIU is Northern Illinois. And we have some people who prefer the UWM acronym? Go Western Michigan! I can see Detroit winning. UNI, my bad.

Also I think it was a big fail on the committee's part to put Wichita St. against VCU.
It reminds me of Butler-ODU last year where I felt both had a chance at a run heading into the tournament.

If you're a mid-major 5 seed, odds are you're going to play a mid-major 12 seed.

Valpo a 7 seed playing at 2-seed Miami. Winner to face LaSalle or Minnesota (snuffing out the Minnesota-Milwaukee rumor ... Gophers' win over Northwestern did that).

Agreed completely. The only thing I can think of if the committee is trying to maintain 12 as "the cinderella seed". I'd add Long Beach to to underrated group.

Unlike 2-seed Dayton who has to play on the road at 7-seed Iowa because their arena is in use. Hmmm. I seem to recall there's another basketball arena nearby.

@cbibyzebrapen: Two brackets down. Let the real #MarchMadness begin! #CBI
I get that the CBI wants to create buzz about its tournament, but it's comical to promote theirs as "the real March Madness."

but how much higher can you really justify seeding VCU? i don't see them being worthy of more than an 11...same with LBSU...if they were both 11s, one of them would be playing a mid-major no matter what

I see VCU as an 8/9. Hell, I'd give them a 7 before the Zags this year. There's something to be said about 8/9 meaning you'd have to play the #1 in the 2nd round, but I don't see a team ranked 9 through 11 that I'd, personally have ahead of VCU.
