Here is why you fire a coach: Source: Rhode Island fires Jim Baron The Rams finished the regular season 7-24, including a disappointing 4-12 record in the Atlantic 10. You do NOT fire a coach with an 20-13 , 11-7 record!!

I think, loveyouso, that BlackandGold means that SIU may be coming for coach Jeter as Bradley, Miami and Penn State did last season.

Yeah, I meant that SIU might be seeking the services of Rob Jeter. Thanks BP.

If Rob doesn't leave, then I think a serious change is needed on the bench. For several years, I have thought Rob needed an older veteran coach on the bench to help with his game management. I think this would be a great help, and in fact, it worked for pmck before he left for Toledo.

Yep, pmck had Dale Race for the first few years of his tenure ... I've also been a big fan of this approach and will remain a fan of that approach for any first-time head coach.

Boudreau has been a fantastic recruiter in my opinion, but a veteran coach who Rob can trust and respect would be a huge improvement to this staff. Perhaps we could replace Conroy with a veteran. However, it appears Conroy is Jeter's "buddy". Would he fire his buddy?

What does the Post from Bidsz mean? He left on his own, right? I am not sure what the Director of Basketball Operations does, but it sounds like a Promotion to me.

I am not sure what the Director of Basketball Operations does, but it sounds like a Promotion to me. It's not. Chip is our Director of Ops, if that's any reference for you.

Honestly guys, let him walk.... He won 20 games this year and that is wonderful..... But when is the last time we were in the dance guys? For this program 20 wins is not enough... Quit being homers and settiling for mediocrity. I am tired of it honestly. For the money this dude makes, what we should be seeing is more from this program. You can hate on my comments all you want, but what Panther fans are willing to accept as "good " sickens me. I love UWM, root for them 100%. I want more, I want another March were we storm the court and make the tourney. Jeter will not deliver that, even though he is paid like he does.. And before anyone whines I said UWM, who gives a rip UWM or Milwaukee... Just give me an NCAA tourney... And maybe a win over UW or Marquette in the next freaking decade. The players on this sqaud are talented, but something just never clicks every year. It's called the dude on the bench. End of story. I want alot from my team, and I think realistically with a good coach they were as good as any team in the Horizon this year... But, once again we come up short and the season ends.... But we won 20 games...... What a joke.

I don't know what the answer is, but from personal experience with both of them, I'd be extremely disappointed to see Duffy Conroy and his basketball acumen or Chad Boudreau and his recruiting superpowers leave.
I do recall a firestorm brought up here when Ronnie Jones was promoted to assistant last season when Bid left, but I am not qualified to say whether or not RJ has done a good job because I haven't seen him in action in that role.
I do know that if any opening comes on the coaching staff, I think that Justin Einerson is the guy to fill it.

Honestly guys, let him walk.... He won 20 games this year and that is wonderful..... But when is the last time we were in the dance guys? 2006. But you already knew that. For this program 20 wins is not enough... Quit being homers and settiling for mediocrity. I am tired of it honestly. I didn't realize 20 wins was mediocrity. For the money this dude makes, what we should be seeing is more from this program. This is probably the best argument out of anyone for "wanting more" out of coach Jeter's tenure. But it's hardly the most anymore. Both Gary Waters and Brad Stevens far outpace Jeter's salary now. You can hate on my comments all you want, but what Panther fans are willing to accept as "good " sickens me. I love UWM, root for them 100%. I want more, I want another March were we storm the court and make the tourney. Jeter will not deliver that, even though he is paid like he does.. You think anyone doesn't want that? You again bring up the pay grade, but in the last couple years both Waters and Stevens have surpassed Jeter in salary, Stevens extremely so. So Jeter should be placing 3rd every year given his salary. What did we finish this year? And before anyone whines I said UWM, who gives a rip UWM or Milwaukee... Only people who understand marketing and branding. Just give me an NCAA tourney... And maybe a win over UW or Marquette in the next freaking decade. Now you're just being unfair. We lost to UW by six this year while our starting SG and PF were on the sidelines. Bruce Pearl's teams lost to Madison by 11, 18, and 29. Well, the first team only lost by two, but since everyone is so quick to point out that Jeter's NCAA Tournament team was built by Pearl's players... The players on this sqaud are talented, but something just never clicks every year. It's called the dude on the bench. End of story. I want alot from my team, and I think realistically with a good coach they were as good as any team in the Horizon this year... I know what didn't click Friday night. Try Tony Meier recovering from a flu that had him throwing up a lung and sitting in a hospital Thursday night with an IV in his arm. But, once again we come up short and the season ends.... But we won 20 games...... What a joke. Yup. I just don't know if you were in on the joke.

During the VCU-Drexel game last night the color commentator (Dan Dakich I believe) noted how much fun VCU players have in playing in Shaka Smart's system and for Shaka Smart.
I would love to have a system in place at UWM where it seems the players have fun playing in a system and for a coach.
