Community of Wisconsin-Milwaukee,
It's been a while since I have posted. Let me first begin by apologizing to the community and Alumni I have and will continue to represent, concerning a misdemeanor crime I was alleged and convicted for. It was solely a circus to say the least and I am doing well in life years later.
Now that's out the way let's discuss UWM's latest travesty. A dismal .500 season in a down conference. I have heard all the excuses, we have been patient to a man whom holds no legit ties to our Alma Mater except for a paycheck.
This is not a personal attack, this is simply the facts. Jeter has not gotten it done. We as a community took on a financial commitment that could only be full filled by hosting the tournament. I am talking the move to Downtown as our Venue. since that time we have forfeited our Crown to Butler, and lost the dominance and momentum UWM once held on a National, Mid-Major and Conference Stage.
Not to mention recruits do not want to play for this system. We are out of element in every regard and quite frankly, we are Madison's hand-capped clone. We embrace those straight laced guys that play fundamental basketball, but also reviving and inspiring those that have game and were looked over.
I understand the attempt to recruit good character guys, but the fact of the matter remains we are talking kids whom will make mistakes that all of us have as the Bible clearly states. That card has been played and failed.
Jeter is not a Panther and has not been there through the thick and thin, only to reap the rewards while isolating individuals that gave their lives to get us where we once were on a National Stage.
We wanna dance Jeter, but I don't even hear the music.
Let's take a page out of My favorite football team... The Wolverines... and get our own, one who understands our true heart and desires. I gained nothing financially but a bum knee after my senior year, guess what? I would do it again because the experience was priceless!
Time to start looking.... either at some top recruits or a new coach! #22

To Jeter,
Dispite what images the media may project, the people know where your heart lies. We want a fighter at UWM, one that bucks the odds, places new variables in the paradigm of success. You have to feel inside that you are the best young up and coming coach in the Nation, African American at that. That has not been nationally seen, I want to see you project those ambitions and emotions onto the players on the floor. Allow them to give you 100% of what ever they have to match your passion. Your personality is poised and collective yet assertive and confident. These guy's lack confidence because you have not given them their "Coming out Parties", displacing those elements of your personality onto your team could restrict important growth in young players that maybe feel under-recruited and are UNDERDOGS... let them fight it out! I remember when Jordan hit his "coming out shot" to becoming the greatest player ever... INC late game money shot... He was a little upset at the hall of fame speech at his college coach...
Please let these guy's play ball... for the sake of March madness... Your first year, you could have beaten Florida, I knew it, The Alumni knew it, our students knew it... but our coach didn't believe, I had no idea who those players where on the court, wasn't the guys I was playing with the year before...
The look was in their eye's, but their bodies were possessed by over-coaching great players...
Do you believe you have had great players? Truly?
This tourney run, against the odds of team earning a bid as a .500 conference team, could be a memorable one in either instance.
Just Believe! Ed

2 pieces of free advice:
1 - You won't build many allies here by beginning by referring to us as "Wisconsin-Milwaukee".
2- You may very well be right, but shouldn't we still play this season out? I'll be the first to admit that I haven't been too thrilled with a lot this season, but it isn't over yet. There does exist the chance for this team to still win the conference tournament. Say this happens - wouldn't your argument be moot? My point is that this is a discussion that makes a lot more sense when the season is over - which it is not yet.

Also - are you suggesting that we recruit the next Michael Jordan? Arguably the greatest basketball player ever? Good idea!

I have allies... Hence I am the real # 22.
I am writing this to hopefully become the Dark knight of the program, put some fire under Jeter's Ass, and make it to the tourney...
The point is to fix this so we do make the tourney!!!
I don't want to be sitting at home come March... I wanna win and we still have a chance to make a historical run...
Why wait till after the season? Cause I don't want the season to end!
And Jordan was held back in college... you dont wanna hold players back...!!!!

Thanks for having the courage to publicly call Jeter out on this Ed... I couldn't agree more.
A lot of people think Bruce Pearl's flamboyance is what sold Milwaukee hoops in the mid-00s, but it was rather the physical, yet finessful(word?) style of East Coast ball that Pearl brought to the program. From a fan's perspective, it's tough to go from that to the (lets face it) frankly boring style of WIAC/D3 ball that Jeter brings... especially when that's always been Madison's niche.
The Hurricanes showed some interest in Jeter last year, lets hope some other BCS-conference program can get duped into taking him off our hands as alumni interest (read: $$$) will never get to the level it needs to be for us to build a new arena as long as he's at the helm.

Fitting how you weren't here last year when we won the regular season and were one game from going dancing or earlier this season when we were 6-1 in the conference...

Ed can't have his own opinion? This is a shared frustration with many. Why would Ed come out when the team was 6-1? Things were looking good, and there were signs of growth. Clearly losing brings out the frustration in people, myself included. With that said, we've won two straight against a couple good teams and if we can get hot at the right time I'm sure Ed and everyone else will thoroughly enjoy eating crow if/when Kaylon, Ryan and the gang find their way to the Big Dance. Go Panthers...
As an aside, I appreciate your apology Ed, and hopefully you are doing well to repair any relationships your actions may have damaged.

Hear that drum beating while you read Ed's comments? That's the Bring Back Bruce drum. I have a feeling it may get louder...

Hear that drum beating while you read Ed's comments? That's the Bring Back Bruce drum. I have a feeling it may get louder... That is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. For people who disagree with Rob, continuing with Rob Jeter makes more sense than going with Bruce Pearl. For those of us on coach Jeter's side, there's no doubt that it ridiculous. I believe in Jeter. Let's go win a title.

"Holding Jordan back" won Carolina a 'ship, lol
What Milwaukee guy are you suggesting, Ed? There's a certain Panther alum in some hot water 200+ miles south that would be a huge splash. But even if both parties are interested, we'd still have to pay off Jeter's contract and pay said alumnus a comparable contract, quite possibly more.
Glad to hear you're doing well and maintaining interest in your alma mater.

I'm simply making an observation. And my post was directed toward the idea of bringing Bruce back, not you.

Hard to believe, but Milwaukee is currently one of 40 -- and, by the time the season is done, will likely be between 45 and 55 -- programs across the country to win at least 17 games in each of the last four years.
Our average RPI over that period is 118.

All due respect, but none of this makes any sense whatsoever. Our recruiting has been on an uptick for years. We have been recruiting both good high school players and impact Juco transfers year after year.
I literally don't understand what you are saying about "character." Are you saying we should overlook character issues? Rob arguably went down that road early in his tenure, knowingly or not, and the results were disastrous. Are you saying that high character guys only play "fundamental" basketball? Doesn't that strike you as ridiculous? It should.
And "Jeter is not a Panther" -- what's your point and how do you get there? Should we only hire UWM alums to coach us? Is this the beginning of a draft movement for Bruce Weber? Rob has coached us substantially longer than the last two guys who had the job, both of whom jumped ship at the first opportunity -- something Rob hasn't done. Rob, Duffy, Chad and Ronnie have a longer resume as "Panthers" than any other coaches I can think of.
I'm glad you are a fan. That's a good thing. But I really don't understand where you are coming from with these comments, or what you are proposing.
