Just some quick thoughts and notes from tonight's game before I get some sleep:
1, Tony Meier, still obviously shaking off the rust from a long bout of inactivity, is only 11 of 21 from the field and 8 of 15 on 3-pointers in 56 minutes this season. Clearly, he wasn't missed at Michigan State.
2, Great to see Ed McCants back in a Panther uniform. Apparently, he was issued No. 14 this time around. Evan Richard was already assigned No. 22.
3, Of the 750 or so people in attendance, about 75 -- or 10 percent -- were Panther maniacs. They made about 90 percent of the noise in the old barn. Let's try to remember to keep it clean and positive, fellas.
4, Nice to see Tim Flowers and Kevin Johnson join D-Rose in the front row, re-enacting their roles on the ESPN hit Entourage. My, how far this program has traveled in four years.
5, I had flashbacks to the 2005 tournament game against Alabama the whole night -- from standing the entire time and chanting to the 35-13, 3-point-aided blitz -- and believe that Paris is markedly more effective in transition than in the halfcourt. I sincerely hope that this fact didn't go unnoticed by the powers that be.
6, Word is that Kaylon was sicker than a dog on Saturday, with a bad fever and chills all night Friday and considerable concern about his availability. What a warrior to gut that out.
7, Thanks to DePaul for being such grateful hosts. Thwarted as they are by years of losing, they showed us all the utmost class. We anxiously await the arrival of the check for $75,000.

Ummm, I think Tony Meier is back. Shooting touch certainly is. Great two-man game with Kaylon/Paris. That's going to be hard to stop for just about everyone else.
Well, Paris has won me over. Finally see what the coaches saw in him. If we can just get 75% to 50% of that the rest of the way, that would be great. Paul: "Seems much more comfortable playing an open court style of game, like we saw tonight."
17 turnovers, but DePaul plays a tough solid press. They get right up in your chest. That was a good test for Cleveland. Anyway, points off turnovers was even at 21, so they didn't hurt as much tonight.
It was good to see when they would cut the lead down to single digits, our guys were able to get it together and push the lead back up over 10. I think it only got down to 8 once in the 2nd half. Maybe twice?
By the way, they have a nice place there. I would change a few things thou. The seating. Rip those out in the upper deck and put in some a little wider. They were tiny seats. Put in something like the club level at Miller Park. The all-wood roof was very cool. Should find a way to highlight that.

Let's try to remember to keep it clean and positive, fellas. It may have sounded like 75, but in reality it was 11 of us diehards from Jeter's Jungle raising hell in the upper deck. We even got props from Coach on Twitter. To be able to take over a Big East arena like that was a great experience! Hopefully we keep rolling and come the 22nd, we can pump some life into the sleepy Bradley Center! Go Panthers! 8-1. Next.

I really do wonder if they weren't there partly for Jeter. I wouldnt put it past him to have kept up some level of communication.

Once we get Ja'Rob and Lonnie back ... You really think Lonnie's coming back? Where would he play? As for Ja' Rob, I can't see him getting 26 minutes a game any more in this rotation. Paris handles the ball, defends much better and apparently can get just as hot from downtown (or hotter). And now, Tony's back.

Did Kevin Johnson have pizza from the concession stand? They wouldn't allow his bike in therefore he passed on the pizza and went for nachos. Good win last night.
