Wait a sec. Does this mean, even if we were the #1 seed this season, we can't host the 2nd Rd. and Semifinals? Is Disney on Ice early in the afternoon and they can still change the Arena back for basketball by 7-8pm?? This could be a very bad deal. Does someone know what is up? Anyone in the know on WCD plans for this potentiality?
There is no way we can forfeit our rights to host. Would be BC be available? MSOE? If we win the league reg. season again this could really, really suck.

It's bloody Disney on Ice running through the 4th... WOW uscellulararena.org/events/703-disney-on-ice-presents-treasure-trovesomeones ass needs to be kicked for this mistake. MSOE's Kern center is too small. The BC is being used both the 2nd/3rd for the Admirals. If this schedule can not be righted we would have 3 Options as I see it: Play in Klotsche, The Al Mcguire Center, or Wisconsin Lutheran Colleges gym.

Thus the problem with an event that may or may not be held on those dates. I'm sure WCD doesn't like holding dates then having an empty arena should that event not be held.
However, the WCD should be used to that place being empty most of the year anyway.

Still another deterrent to putting all our eggs in the Championship Tuesday basket.

"However, the WCD should be used to that place being empty most of the year anyway."
That and the Milwaukee Theater next door that millions was dumped into for what? 8 to 12 shows a year?
We only need the building for 20 dates per year. That leaves 340 other days they can schedule giant sized cartoon characters to skate around.
The WCD is a joke and we need to get away from them.

After all, the H League championships have only been held at The Cell on these dates four of the last nine years (another year, it started at Hinkle Fieldhouse and bounced back here Tuesday).

Anyone in the know on WCD plans for this potentiality. I have been told that we will not be able to host any tournament games except the championship game. This is neither a mistake by us, nor is it a case of the WCD "screwing us". The fact is that we are not the #1 tenant in the Cell, and short of us paying them a lot more, we never will be. The WCD was open, and Disney paid them a lot of money to book those dates. I'm sure we had a chance to buy those dates as well, but where would that money come from? Its not like we are swimming in cash right now. Yet another in a long, long list of reasons why we need our own arena.

"Yet another in a long, long list of reasons why we need our own arena."
For example, building it big enough to hold the Horizon League Tournament and big games, so we never have to deal with this stuff again. Not the ridiculous 5k seat "tough ticket" idea.

My gosh...I can understand the business decision to book Mickey and his ice skating friends......but what a joke. You're right on jhart!!

More reason to devote serious effort toward getting at least the #2 seed.

More reason to devote serious effort toward getting at least the #2 seed. What does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

I've been working on a story on this since Wednesday. The man the WCD wants me to talk to is back in the morning, so I'll post the story once I have his comments and Rick's reactions on PantherU.

If Milwaukee could not host any tournament games but the championship game, wouldn't a #2 seed imply only one tournament game on the road versus (potentially) three games? Or am I missing something?
