I've seen concerns expressed here and elsewhere about the impact the loss of Ant Hill and Tone Boyle will have on the 2011-12 Panthers.
There's no question that it's no easy task to replace the tandem, especially Anthony, who emerged into one of the top post players in program history.
Still, when you consider the graduation of Ricky Franklin and James Eayrs prior to last season, there's reason to believe that the duo can be replaced somewhat seamlessly.
Here's the statistical comparison of the two top-scoring tandems in their senior seasons (edited to reflect proper scoring totals):
2009-10 Ricky Franklin/James Eayrs -- 27.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists per game. 2010-11 Anthony Hill/Tone Boyle -- 28.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game.
In short, I think the Panthers will be just fine.

In short, I think the Panthers will be just fine. I think Hill/Boyle averaged 28.2 a game. Still your point is pretty clear. Now that we have established a solid program under Jeter I would anticipate the trend of losing a couple good players with good incoming recruits to replace them to continue.

Dylan, I have an optimistic view of this as well. But to play devils advocate, one could argue that Ricky and James were replaced with know commodities in Ant and Tone. We know less about the players that will fill their shoes.
I'd be curious to hear your take on this.

Interesting take, PANTHERfan.
I'd say that Big James was replaced by Anthony, a somewhat known factor after emerging at midseason the year before, and Rick was in fact replaced by Kaylon, who was something of a known commodity from his season at Evansville.
In terms of production, I'd say that Anthony is being replaced by James Haarsma, whom I consider to be a known commodity after his two seasons at Evansville, and Tone is being replaced by Paris, the most unknown factor of the players in discussion.
Here's my perception of Paris: a player who defends, rebounds, shoots and can run all day. In my opinion, the player to whom he can most easily be compared is Boo Davis, under-recruited out of high school and largely productive in his two seasons at Olney Central.
He turned out to be a pretty good player for us.

I would take another Boo Davis all day every day, haven't been able to find any film on Paris so not sure what we are getting.

Not really sure where to go with this one.
Chris Hill was infinitely more secure with the ball than Kaylon.
Ryan has nowhere near the complete package that Boo had.
Demetrius has athleticism that may recall the pre-injury James Wright.
Please don't expect James Haarsma to play the pivot like A.T. I'd be thrilled if James could provide us with a Dylan Page light.

I don't feel quite as confident about our team as I once had.

Each team is different. Each player is different. We compare new players to old ones because it's easy analysis, but it is rarely good analysis.
We know what we have returning. But the ceiling for next year's team will be set by the contributions that Haarsma, Richard, Panoske, Shaq Boga, Harris and Gulley can bring. None of us has seen any of these guys play one minute of D1 ball (unless someone happened to catch an Evansville game). I have faith in our coaches' ability to identify talent, but until I see these guys actually play I have no conception of how they will integrate into the team or make it better. I trust that they will, but I don't know how yet. That's a lot of new talent. Overall, that's good, but integrating those new players and defining their roles will take a while. Think of how long it took to figure out how we could play Ryan Allen in a productive way. By year's end he was a critical component of our success, but it was a bumpy ride getting there.

or

Many of you are putting your eggs with Gulley and Harris. I hope it's not the Michael Tyler kool-aid.
