You most likely wouldn't be in the NIT had the NCAA not bought it out a few years back and made automatic bids the norm, so don't be too excited. I am certain if there weren't auto bids, Valpo would be a preferred team for the NIT. You would done for the season had there not been two useless postseason tournaments added a few years ago. So I wouldn't get too excited about that coveted CBI bid. [/valpologic] I'm not excited about the CIT* bid. I would have been excited about an at-large NIT bid, but 14 teams losing their tourneys decided to botch that up for us. And I wouldn't advocate to take auto bids away from the NCAA, because then every conference wouldn't get represented...I would agree with getting rid of the conference tourneys, though. All they do is water down the bottom of the field of the actual tourney. The SWAC and MEAC should not be represented in both tourneys. What I said all has logical merit. You can make bad puns about "sour grapes" all day long, but Valpo, in my opinion, was one missed layup away from being in your shoes (Rogers makes that, we host the tourney and win by 10 rested at home). Not much separation there. Congrats, though. Rep the HL well, which I am proud to be a member.

And if we hadn't faded at the end against Loyola or gotten off to such a rough start at Green Bay or fallen flat against Butler ... Anyway, thanks for the well-wishes ... I think.

It's hard to say what it'll really look like. www.luc.edu/partner/campaignnews/reimagine_phase2.htmlI hate it when they ghost out renderings so much that you can't tell what you're looking at. From what I've seen they'll probably be filling in the corners of the Gentile center with seats. They need too, seeing as they are replacing all their bleachers with seats you typically lose 2.5 people (depending) per row when you make that transition. Again it's difficult to see whats happening in the renderings, but I love when arenas have day-lighting, it really adds to the ambiance. Maybe some of our Loyola Friends who come to our board occasionally can shed some light on the happenings down south...

Comparing a remodeled arena to a new one is apples to oranges Quarter Pounders with Cheese.

Doesn't do a thing to remedy how ugly that place is.

I also like how the 3-point line in that poor photoshop job is a women's 3-point line.
