I constantly get is that Western Michigan questions when I wear my UWM sweatshirt here in Denver. Sometimes, drunk people say Go Hawkeyes becasue the colors are similar...I just attribute that to Iowa grads not being too smart.

Fresno State/Long Beach State (instead of CSU-_____) Buffalo, Albany, Binghamton, Stony Brook (instead of SUNY-____) Rutgers (instead of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey) Chattanooga (instead of UT-Chattanooga) Green Bay (instead of UW-Green Bay) there's more, but I'll move on. The more our athletic department makes it a priority and especially the more success we have, the more people will use the true name. Of course if we get more autonomy, we can just change the university's name itself. Until that happens, UWM (etc) will be used until correct use becomes a priority, which it currently is not. |

I don't know if I'd go with "pathetic." That's pretty strong. The real issue is that the athletic department has not taken the rebranding seriously, and have not moved forward with it. Well, to me that is pathetic enough to keep me from donating more to the program than I already do. And I may not be the only one who feels that way. |

same and kids from madison should put Universtiy of Wisconsin-Madison My resume says University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and it'll also say University of Wisconsin-Madison in a few years. The University of Wisconsin is not a school, it's a system--at least for now. |

I was in Door County a few years ago and while wearing a hoodie w/ the panther logo someone thought I was a Mizzou fan. I just attribute that to Iowa grads not being too smart. It's all a moot subject. This whole thing is based on 1 guy in NKU's AD saying they'd like to move the HL. No one from the HL has said they'd let them in or are at all interested in them.
AND, IF they went to D-1, they'd have to be an independent while playing out their probationary years (Like SD State).
