Thought this might be a good place for opposing teams' fans to ask questions and for us to provide insight. Feel free to add to this thread.
Near U.S. Cellular Arena (3rd and 4th St.)
- Major Goolsby's: Right across the street and pure definition of a sports bar. Good burgers, good wings.
- Center Court: Across from the Bradley Center on 4th St. Decent food and another good option.
- Calderone Pub: On State St. between Major Goolsby's and Center Court. A smaller place that now specializes in Mexican. A hidden gem if you want to get away from crowded bars.
- Molly Cool's: On Old World 3rd St. Great place for seafood.
- Old German Beer Hall: On Old World 3rd St. Name says it all.
- Buck Bradley's: On Old World 3rd St. Popular destination before and after events at the Bradley Center/Arena.
- Other 3rd St. establishments: Buckhead Saloon, Tutto, Brat Haus.
Over the river (Water Street area)
- A.J. Bombers: Corner of Water and Juneau. Profiled in Food Wars a few months ago. Always packed because it makes a great burger (with plenty of somewhat weird options). Usually a wait on the weekends to get a table, but they do open up quickly because the service is fast.
- Rudy's: Mexican
- The Harp: Irish Bar
- Trinity: 3 Irish bars in one.
- BarNone: Small bar on Water St., but popular.
- Rosie's: Generally attracts a younger professional to middle age crowd. The bar where Charles Barkley punched some dude back in 1991.
That's a start... feel free to add on any suggestions or post questions. Welcome back to Milwaukee!

If one is looking for expensive and fancy quality German food, check out Maders on Old World 3rd St.

Replay is a little ways away (Farwell & North) but has become my favorite sports bar in town.

Mader's and the Old German Beer Hall are two of the most beautiful buildings in the city.

Replay is a little ways away (Farwell & North) but has become my favorite sports bar in town. +1 The food is just a tad pricey, but its good and the atmosphere is wonderful.

I am kind of partial to Water Street Brewery. I know the brewmaster personally from being roommates in college when he was just the assistant. Used to bring home test barrels back then, drop it in the kitchen, and say "guy's we're having a party tonight". Well okay, if we have to.

I would throw Mo's Irish Pub (3 block South of the Cell) in the mix
It's not the cheapest but it's not the most expensive either, but good food in a great space. Also they do have a shuttle that will take you to and from the game. I don't know if it is always running but I have seen it many times.

For out of towners... if you're feeling festive ie. gearing up for St. Patrick's Day, I would suggest my favorite bar/restaurant/inn, County Clare. It's a little over a mile walk (or a quick-cheap cab ride). Very reasonable room prices and the food and drink are simply stellar - www.countyclare-inn.com/The Safehouse would be another great place for folks to go should they find it www.safe-house.com/

The Calderone Club has excellent Italian food and yes it is different place from the Calderone Pub as it is located on 3rd and Kilbourn across from the Hyatt. Elsa's (best wings and it's not even close, pork chop sandwiches are also to die for, no really, two thick pork chop cuts on each sandwich have a good chance of ending your life), Mikey's (American) and Louise's (Italian wood fired) all on Jefferson in Cathedral Square also have excellent food and drinks.

Gotta disagree about The Safehouse. I've been there a couple times and have been sorely disappointed each time and look forward to never going back. Its ok for drinks but not worth the hassle for food.
If anyone's looking for a nice steakhouse, I've been to Milwaukee Chophouse (inside the Hilton which is on the opposite side of the Frontier Airlines Center from the Cell) and have come away quite happy. Miller Time Pub is next door to it and their nachos are ridiculously good and filling. Its a meal in itself. MTP used to be the official post-game hangout for UWM and Marquette but the service was sketchy at best once it got busy.

Wow. I never even knew it closed. Just did the search and sure enough ... must've missed out on that news.
Listing is updated with Turners removed.

forgot my favorite wing joint, Points East Pub Damn! How could I forget that one? Out-of-towners ... if you love grilled buffalo wings, you've got to get to Points East Pub. Small corner bar that makes arguably the best wings in town. On Thursday's wing special nights, the wait to get your wings is about 2 hours. Other nights have a normal wait time. Just a short drive from the Cell, on the corner of Jackson and Lyon: local.yahoo.com/info-16726376-points-east-pub-milwaukee?viewtype=map
