Pumped. I may not sleep between now and Tuesday. There was some rust from not playing for a week, but still overall a great game from our Panthers. Ant and Ryan are critical to this team's success. It's been said here before, but the difference when those guys are on the court vs off it is night and day. Ryan's not gonna get a lot of media and casual-fan credit because his skills aren't going to show up on the stat sheet or (dunks aside) on the highlight reel, but he is a fantastic defensive asset. Ja'Rob had an off night and crunch time FTs are still nerve racking, but there's lots to be excited about.

I'd really like to see us be more flexible on our inbounds plays late in the game. I'd love to see us get it to Tony Meier. I realize he's our best inbounder but he's also our best free throw shooter.

Great game and what an atmosphere! It definitely reminded me of "the old days". Despite how well we played, I never quite felt comfortable with Brandon Wood on the other side. (Pre-season Horizon player of the year next year?) Congratulations Milwaukee and can't wait until Tuesday. Lets take care of Mr. Flopper and Co. for the 3rd time this year.

I only have one complaint/question.
What does the 10th ranked (or whatever we are right now) League/Conference in the nation have to do, to get the HD cameras here?
Hell I was watching Coastal Carolina the other night. They had HD cameras.

Hell I was watching Coastal Carolina the other night. They had HD cameras. The Panthers game was in HD. CSU- Butler switched to HD at the 10 minute mark. Don't know why that is. |

Here's the thing: it had to be Milwaukee and Butler.
These are the league's two best teams, one on an eight-game winning streak and the other on a 10-game surge.
These are the league's two best programs, Milwaukee having won four regular-season titles in the last eight years and Butler having won three. The Panthers have won three Horizon League tournament titles since 2003 and Butler has won two.
It's basketball like it outta be.

It's nice to revive the Milwaukee Butler tradition. To those not familiar with it, welcome aboard. I saw about a thousand new faces tonight, notably from the student section - once again establishing the biggest and best in this league. This tradition tends to work out well when milwaukee hosts, so do your part to keep this alive. Go panthers, get back to the dance. Nobody will want to face this team there.

Did the Crusaders not know about the Horizon League tournament format when they joined the conference?
I'm sure the many-times reconstituted Mid-Con/Summit would have them back.

I have a question for any Butler fans who visit this board. I was sitting in Sec. 223 - the same section as the Butler parents/fans. Is gentleman in his 40s who was on the refs from the tip at every Butler game? Good Lord - he knew every ref by name and complained about every call in the first half. I heard Arcibald Whaley is garbage or Archi you're a piece of s##t a 100 times during the first half. This guy was like nighthawk x 10  . Anyway, I know every team has a few of those type of fans. Congrats to the Butler student section for coming out in full force. |
