Valpo up 3 with 3:09 left ... YSU ball.

Wow, seriously? This Valpo announcer is wondering why YSU didn't foul down 2 with over a minute left.
Stupidity is strong in this one. And he's not shutting up about it.

Youngstown State might be pretty good next year. Especially if Blake Allen performs up to how he's been down the stretch.

There's got to be an upset somewhere, so I'm picking Detroit there. Valparaiso has been nothing but shaky down the stretch and I've got to think it will bite them at some point.

Detroit really dominated tonight. Valpo still scares me, mostly because of Brandon Wood. Someone tell me who I should be rooting for!

Jeter, Williams now on same page www.jsonline.com/sports/panthers/117207908.htmlGotta say that this is what I was hoping for this week: an every-day buildup to the Horizon League tournament in the local daily newspaper. Now under new leadership, I think the J-S actually gets it.

To those trying to "sell" the Friday games to skeptical or reluctant friends:
Tell them that the league quarterfinals involve two RPI top 75 teams that are certain to make at least the NIT field and three first-team all-league players, including the Player of the Year. Detroit, the second-lowest seed in action, has four players recruited to BCS schools.
All attendees should expect to see some excellent basketball (fingers crossed for a sextuple overtime game in the nightcap).

I not going to say yet who will be in the NIT. We have to see how the conf. toury's play out.
