Bill Johnson's take on the BracketBuster. Nice points by Johnson, but I still like the BBs. They provide a similar quality opponent that year. The unspoken agreement of return games eased the non-conference scheduling the following year. If they didn't exist, teams like Milwaukee would be spinning the roulette wheel on non-conference games, and that has often led to Division II opponents. Butler got the opportunity to play Duke this year. Gonzaga has earned a few national TV games a year. But those that aren't quite there yet use the BBs to promote their team to the rest of the nation. Don't kill that for us.

Buffalo will not play here in 2011-12. They're here in 2012-13.

Maybe they can do the BracketBuster event in January. I do like that you get a return match-up out of the deal.
Butler has said they will be in the BracketBuster next season.

Winning this game would obviously continue our winning steak. But most importantly, carry momentum into the CSU game. If we can get a bye toward the semis it would be huge. Unless Marquette goes nuts in there BE tourney, I don't see them going to the Dance. If UWM is gonna start putting themselves on the map again, it starts here. They may never see attention like this for a while. And the poor play by MU as of late is only temporary.

For the Panthers to go to the NCAA toury this season, they must win the HL toury.

I think what he was saying was that if MU doesn't make the tourney, Milwaukee will get more attention. In that scenario, the Badgers would still get the most pub, but we'd get more than if all three teams are there.

Milwaukee just needs to win.

Milwaukee would get attention by virtue of:
A) Our Sweet Sixteen run/Bruce Pearl
B) Butler
C) Parity
News outlets don't divvy up attention by region, they divvy up attention by conference. Being a mid-major doesn't hurt since the attention is so focused now on finding the next Cinderella, but playing in the same conference as (and beating) Butler is our ticket to stardom in the tournament. Also, people still remember 2005.

On this I would have to RESPECTFULLY disagree with you MUPANTHER. I honestly believe that if the panthers win the next three and then happen to lose in the final AND valpo, clev st win in solid fashion on their respective bracketbuster games this league will get a second bid for the tourney. If that happens it would be very hard for the panthers(with a loss by Valpo vs GB) not to get the nod, ESPECIALLY with the sweep of Butler. I believe that these games this weekend are VERY important for the league. Regardless, this team has fought and I mean FOUGHT when they were written off by most and many on this site. They are banged up and keep fighting. Right now they are just what a coach dreams of: A group of young men that have fought through the roughest of times and found each other. They are on a mission and have been. Best of all it has developed at the right time. I will watch the fight continue. I wish them good health because whatever else I would wish for them was snatched up in that locker room about seven games ago.

Panthers don't have the resume to get an at-large bid. It would be tough to get an NIT bid.
I like what you are saying! The coaches and players have turned the season around.
CSU in ESPN Bracketology is only a 13 seed and their RPI is WAY better than the Panthers. The CSU game is huge on Sunday at ODU for the Vikings.

Panthers are a 4 point underdog. I don't see how. Buffalo can't beat a highschool team with how they're playing of late. I'd guess even nursing a few injuries we win by 20-30. I'll temper those expectations a bit since they are in Buffalo and say its a comfortable 9 point win.
