Too bad for Cleveland State. This loss effectively pushes them off the bubble.
Two angry teams will be going at it this Thursday in Ohio. Should be interesting.

Legitimate question: Did Valpo just leapfrog Cleveland State and earn their way onto the bubble?

Piss poor showing for the Horizon league in this years bracket busters... O well though move back to conference play now.
And no I don't think Valpo is on the bubble and if they are I see them on the outside looking in on Selection Sunday. The HL will only get 2 bids if Butler gets an at large and then CSU, Valpo, Milwaukee, or someone else wins the HLT.

Legitimate question: Did Valpo just leapfrog Cleveland State and earn their way onto the bubble? I would say they are on the bubble, but ultimately out. They received votes the Coaches poll last week - I would expect them to gather a few more this week.

I doubt that Vapo's win against MO St. gets more than a yawn from the selection committee. The Valley did serious damage to their collective cred this weekend. Yet another example of the how the BB hurts many more than it helps. Utah State and the CAA came out smelling like roses, but not many others.

+1
If there's a program and a fan base that should be unified in its support for the abolition of the Sears BracketBuster series and associated pool play, it's this one ... for a lot of reasons.

Butler continues to be on the bubble in Lunardi's Bracketology. Not sure I'd agree, but he's pretty accurate. CSU had the opportunity to solidify their at-large potential, and couldn't take advantage of it. ODU was one of their strongest opponents this year (along with Butler, Valpo and WVU) and thus one of the games at which the committee looks. CSU was given a high profile game to prove they're worthy to dance, they came up short.

And again, BCS bubble teams looked on in glee as two worthy mid-majors waged a play-out game for NCAA at-large consideration.

Hey you gotta win the games to take advantage of the bracketbuster. ODU was in regardless of the outcome of the game because they've beaten quality opponents. There is a reason why everyone has Butler in with 9 losses and people discounted Cleveland St. with 5. You have to play quality opponents and win.
BCS bubble teams didn't win this week. IMO I believe teams like VCU and Valpo have now played their way into the discussion, and provided they both finish semi strong, will get plenty of consideration for an at large birth. Teams like Marquette just felt that bubble get a little bit harder.

It's CSU's fault for losing their key games. If you fail a test, you don't blame the test.

So, how many of the 114 participants in this "extravaganza" will ultimately benefit? Three?
And weren't those three -- George Mason, Utah State and Old Dominion -- "in" even before this weekend's games were played?

And next year, that number could be ten.
Also, everyone should keep in mind that George Mason really only made the 2006 Tournament because of their Bracketbuster win.
