Oh my god, shut up about Dick Vitale38-23 at the half. Valpo blew a similar halftime lead against Milwaukee. They were on the road, and definitely not up 15.

Oh, I thought they were up 10 at the half. It certainly felt like it.

I believe we were down 6 at the half but I could be wrong...

This one's over. Valpo is humiliating Missouri State. I think they're pretty mad about Wednesday.

Smallest venue Dick Vitale has done a game in for ESPN. Nice win for Valpo and the Horizon League. Now, lose to Green Bay on Monday night.

So the Horizon league went 3-4 so far with just Cleveland St left tomorrow...

"Smallest venue Dick Vitale has done a game in for ESPN."
Dick Vitale's first broadcast for ESPN was the Wisconsin-DePaul game from Alumni Hall on the DePaul campus, the Blue Demons' home from 1956 to 1980, when they moved to Rosemont.
The gym's official listed capacity was 5,308, just shade smaller than the ARC at Valpo.

Is it a coincidence that DePaul has practically fallen off the map from the time they moved from their intimate, on-campus gym to their sterile, larger off-campus arena?
Duh.

Doesn't help that their recruits aren't turning into guys like Mark Aguirre, Dave Corzine, Terry Cummings, Rod Strickland, etc. anymore. Heck, I think they would take more Quinton Richardson's and Bobby Simmons' at this point.

Norris Cole has 18 of Cleveland State's first 22 points, and just drilled a 32-footer for no real reason.

Cleveland State is not a particularly complete team.
Seriously Norris, you're good, but the way to play against a zone defense isn't to hold the ball 35 feet away from the hoop until there are 15 seconds left on the shot clock.
Note to Rob Jeter: play zone

It's a miracle that Cleveland State shot 64% against us in the first game. Tony Meier needs to get himself up to play, because Cleveland State can't rebound worth a damn today.
Also, how totally overrated is Aaron Pogue? How on earth does he average 8.5 points?

Aaron Pogue is a very good player and Cleve St a very good team that should play in the NCAA. What shouldn't be overlooked is that ODU has the horses to hang with any team in the country. After this weekend I believe the CAA deserves no less than 3 bids to the NCAA.
I was hoping Cleve st. would help pick up the slack for the horizon. We really dropped the ball for the conference in terms of building conference RPI and multiple bids. What can you do though when you have to deal with significant injuries.

It seems to me that Pogue gets by just because he's bigger than everyone else. But there's a reason he drops 5 and 6-point performances between his gems. He's got 12 games this year in which he's scored 6 points or less and five games in which he's scored three points or less. He's also only got two double-doubles despite his 6.2 RPG average, as opposed to Anthony Hill's 5, Paul Carter's 11, and Matt Howard's 8. He has a bad, bad habit of disappearing, and when Cleveland State doesn't have a post game, they're incredibly vulnerable -- unless they shoot the lights out. That's not happening today.
