Hill will return to starting lineup www.jsonline.com/sports/panthers/112641114.htmlWhew! This team has absolutely no chance to win over the long term without Anthony Hill. He's probably the one real advantage -- perhaps along with Tony Meier -- that the Panthers have over Wright State.

The action taken (i.e. Ant not playing a game) is more important than knowing about the conservation that they had. Now, let's see if it makes a difference in his performance tonight. Should this have happened earlier, probably. That's part of Rob's maturation process; learning how to 'press the buttons' of his players. In looking at the season so far, it's definitely hard to see any progress from last year in terms of their record, but there is a ton of season left. This is probably the biggest issue Rob has right now as a coach, understanding how to get the best from each of his players each night. Every night is different and any given player can be up or down in their energy level and shooting touch, dealing with adversity at any point in the game, etc... How do you keep everyone going at 110% regardless of how they feel physically and mentally? We've seen what a good game looks like from this team, and it's pretty darn good. He's got to 'find a way' to get this team to perform at a higher level every game. I do think we've seen Rob able to do this with less talented teams in previous years. That's what gives me hope that he can show it with this year's team also.

A little randomness:
At this point, Ant has scored 860 career points. Let's say in a theoretical scenario that the Panthers remain the #3 or #4 seed in the league and make it all the way to the Horizon League Championship game. That's 10 games from this point forward. If Hill averages exactly 14 points per game in those 10 theoretical games, he'll score 1000 career points.
This scenario is not entirely unreasonable in any stretch of the imagination. It would be really cool to see Hill, a player who completely turned his basketball career around in the last two years, make an imprint of that magnitude in the school record books.

Now we need Hill to step-up on these road games.

Ant took two really stupid fouls early, then two stupid ones in the second half and didn't play up to his usual minutes. He was very effective when he was in, and I believe the score was 12-0 when he took a seat with the 2nd foul.
We need him against Paul Carter and KC Robbins on Saturday.

I look at last night as this. Ant is a senior in a league where they let you play hard as a senior (see: Howard, Matt) But, at times you have to see what they will let you get away with and last night Ant didn't make the adjustment and before you knew it he was on the bench.
All in All, Ant will figure it out for the UIC game.

Hill is now up over 900 career points. 901 to be precise.

4-5 games left minimum...need to average 25 the rest of the way...which sounds to me like pretty managable...

Hill's 32-point effort this afternoon also gave him five 20-point games this season, which is more than he had recorded his entire career combined.

Anthony Hill point watch: 919, after an 18-point performance against Valparaiso.

Point watch: 938, after 19 against Buffalo.
With a minimum of three games remaining, Hill would need to essentially average 21 PPG to reach 1,000. With a fourth added on, that number goes down to 16.
