Boy, is it even worth posting about last night's game? A promising start turned into yet another bad loss to a really bad team.
The new AD cannot be hired fast enough.

I like Ant but he is turning into a "ball stopper". The flow of the offense stops because it takes him 3 seconds to figure out if he wants to face up, drop step or power dribble.
Tone reminds me a John Salmons....A guy that thrives as a 3rd/4th option but can't handle the pressure of being a 1 or 2.

What is hiring a new AD going to accomplish as regards Mens basketball?? Actually, maybe we can get some further advocacy and direction on the issue of an on-campus facility hopefully. In the meantime we need to buckle down and hope the next five years get better. Nothing much else to do at this point...hope by that time we have the on campus facility so at least we don't have to go to the Cell and hear 500 crickets chriping in the big empty barn. I will continue to be there but fear for the program. The recruiting indeed has improved, could not have been much worse but product is not progressing and taking the leap needed and expected to actually be a legimitate real contender. Not passing the eye test at this point but hopefully we come on strong, not to finish 3rd and win a game in the HL tourney but actually be the real deal.

I don't think last night's game entails streams of analysis.
Rob has recruited and developed a stable full of guards who simply can't secure the ball when forced out of their comfort zone.

Wow, it's pretty hard to add anything differently from what I've already read from this thread. I can't believe how Jeter sounded in the paper as though it was no big the way the Panthers struggled with the pressure last nite. He rotates 10 guys a game, why didn't he put some damn ball handlers out there, it was humiliating.

Steve, no one will go to see a bad team at an on-campus arena. No one will go to a game even if they're given free tickets. The arena is low on the list of things that need to change with this program.

UWM97...I hear you... only thing is at least we will not have the huge U S Cell rent burden... That money could be used elsewhere including maybe financing a decent baseball field for example... also less humiliatiing going to the games in our own facility, probably something like Loyola's (wish it could be more like Northern Iowa's), than rattling around that big empty barn downtown... kind of like the Semi Pro Wil Ferrell movie,.. Flint Michigan Tropics.. lets get tropical...5 people in a $10,000 seat arena...hopefully though will not be a cheesy place like the Klotsche. Trying to get that image of Victor E Panther dancing pathetically alone to disco music with a sequined glove as our big marketing piece of the Turn Back the clock...I felt like hanging myself in the garage after that night..

Stat of the game:
20 turnovers 18 made baskets
In case you were wondering, it's never good to draw comparisons to the Ric Cobb Era or bad girls/women's basketball.

What's up with Wolf getting minutes over Carter? Is his hand still hurt? Seems like Jeter hasn't given him much of a chance yet.

I personally think that Ja'Rob McCallum should be starting at the 2 spot and Lonnie Boga the 3.
McCallum is a much more efficient player shooting, he's more confident and he isn't as much of a liability on the defensive end as Tone.
On a team that has a low shooting percentage, you need McCallum out there for 31 minutes like he was last night.

My joke the other day that Milwaukee could replace DePaul in the Big East and no one would notice? Confirmed last night. They had about the same amount of people at the game as we had at the Cell for Northern Iowa, CSU, YSU etc. Their announced attendance? 7612.
SEVEN THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED TWELVE PEOPLE was the announced attendance. Are you f***ing KIDDING? Is this a joke?
If they had 7612 at last night's game, we had 6,000 at the Klotsche Center against Western Michigan, 8,000 against Northern Iowa and 15,000 against Marquette.
I have never seen a school fudge the attendance numbers like that. Absolutely ridiculous, and if that's the going rate in men's basketball right now, we better start announcing 5,000 fans per game.

P-A-I-D attendance, meaning the UWM game was thrown in one of their packages featuring premier Big East teams and many chose not to use the tickets last night.

I get a kick out of our announced attendance as well. There are games at the Cell where I count the fans and add a few extra for those at the concessions or rest rooms when we announce 2,500 and I can barely count 1,000 actual live people
