I can't get excited about this program and I even started this discussion board. This is a typical season under the new administration. Win some games against above average teams and get whooped by well below average teams. Typical season!

It is a miracle we recruit as well as we do considering our student attendance. Look at the type of recruits Badger Football got after beating Ohio State, it was directly related to that win and the atmosphere of that game. If we had 10% of what Badger football has it would be amazing.

Hey Dylan, why don't they call it "Roundtine?"
The high-water mark for attendance was around 5000/game in 2005 I believe. This was with the greatest team in school history, and a once-in-a-generation coach that featured the most entertaining style of play in college basketball, and who served as a de facto one-man marketing department. I find it unreasonable to think we can approach those numbers anytime soon, with or without an on-campus arena. That's the cold, hard reality.

As long as I am talking about UWM Athletics marketing... wondering about the following although not a big deal, more the principle of the thing..
<supposedly gift items for season ticket holders... have not seen
<media guides....are they done?? Not for sale at the games and would love to purchase? What is going on with that??
The little things add up

Not to totally change the subject, but what happened to the bald guy who used to get real fired up at games and turn bright red? He would have been going ballistic last night.

He still goes to game regularly? I feel like I haven't seen (or atleast heard him) in years. Maybe did he just stop yelling? He used to be the "voice of the crowd" at times when you could hear a pin drop in the Cell.

Not sure what last night was suppose to represent, but it didn't work on any level. Please do not do this again.

The high-water mark for attendance was around 5000/game in 2005 I believe. . Those numbers are only that high because of the HL semi-final and finals.

Actually, 2005 attendance was 4000/game in the regular season. Factor in the two HL tournament games, and it was 4800/game. 2006 was a better attendance year, which makes sense due to the previous year's success, and the fact that nearly the entire team was returning.

Nighthawk hasn't been a season-ticket holder for a couple years now, and while I haven't seen him, some of us say he's been around at a few games.
My PantherU post was making me so angry, I saved it so I'd be more level-headed in the morning. Nope.

The fact of the matter is that last night's crowd of 1,200 in an on-campus arena was 1,600 shy of last year's average attendance downtown.
That's what is relevant today.
Not saying that's an indictment of a new arena, but it certainly isn't a ringing endorsement either.
Let's hope that the new facility is better planned than last night's event.
