Boga airmailing a wide-open three summed up this game.
I don't see us coming within 20 of Marquette, sadly.

I also find it hard to believe that Evan Richard can't shoot better than than most of the guys on this team.

This has turned into a blow out. Kiss the students good bye the rest of the year. Lots of work to be done if this team wants to be at top 3 team in the conference.

I'm just going to say it.....Kaylon Williams is garbage on the basketball court!!! If Shaq Boga is any good at all he should be starting from day 1 next season.

Say hello to a team without Anthony Hill. This is what it looks like. Haarsma had better be some kind of post player, because when Ant loafed like a petulant child for 3/4 of this game we got a glimpse of what our offense is without him.
The entire team -- top to bottom, including coaches -- was looking past this game to Marquette. This game has no bearing on how good we actually are because no one put any effort into preparing for it or executing for it. You know how in the exhibition season a team like Le Moyne can surprise a team like Syracuse because they take an otherwise meaningless game 100% seriously while the better team loafs through it? This game was like a damn exhibition game. UWM is 200% better than Western Michigan. But because Marquette is looming on the horizon, nobody on the entire team gave a sh*t.
We'll play Marquette closer than people think. Because we'll care about that game. Will we lose? Yes. Will a team that should have been 5-2 be 3-4? Yes. The basketball team is just lucky they don't have classes the rest of this week, so they don't have to add the student body to the list of people who will cuss a fire right into their skulls. But at this point they can't help but play the Marquette game harder than any they've ever played.
But you know what the most embarrassing thing about this game was? The 1/3 empty KLOTSCHE CENTER. The athletic department failed completely and miserably here.

You need to have students show up if you want to kiss any of them goodbye. It was a ghost town in there.
There's really nothing positive to say about this game. Just bad all around. We'll be lucky to lose by 20 this saturday.

You need to have students show up if you want to kiss any of them goodbye. It was a ghost town in there. Thanksgiving break starts tomorrow. Most of the student populace is already gone.

And I couldn't agree with you more Super, this was a failure on ALL fronts --- coaching, players, athletic department, etc... what an embarrassment.

You know how many men's basketball games I'd left early before tonight? Zero.

I had only left one game early in the last seven years. Tonight was number 2.

This team isn't good enough to look past anybody. If they didn't know it before tonight, they know it now.

I hope to god the players read this board, because I have some advice:
Anthony Hill: When you encounter a player who you are bigger and stronger than, you push his ass right into the baseline. Don't stand there and wait for the ball. Shove people around.
Tone Boyle: Stop taking stupid flying jumpers. You had success the last three games because you were selective. But in our three losses you've been 5-13, 5-15, and now 5-16. And when Kaylon wants to communicate with you on a blown defense, don't turn your back on him like an 8-year-old having a tantrum.
Kaylon Williams: Score. That means going to the basket.
Lonnie Boga: Your strength is inside. Go there. And don't be lazy with your passes.
Mitchell Carter: See Anthony Hill.
Kyle Kelm: Learn when to pull the trigger. You have an excellent head fake; use it. A big chunk of your points should be coming at the line. Get fouled.
Ryan Allen: Keep doing what you're doing. You're the best player on the team at this moment.
Ja'Rob McCallum: Don't try to stuff your f***ing stat line. Take what's there. Be selective.

Once more to Anthony Hill: You scored 15 points tonight on SEVEN FIELD GOAL ATTEMPTS. Take a hint. You can't finish a game with seven attempts. You just can't.
And under no circumstances ever should a college basketball team attempt 29 3-pointers. Ever. We had three fewer 3-point attempts than 2-point attempts.

Good to see no ref-bashing. This one was entirely suicide. Not one player played half to their potential. Not one. This was an all around embarrassment. On the plus side, I won Evan's jersey.
