Tell me Anthony wasn't hanging out by the 3-point line again. No, he had problems finishing on the block against guys 4 inches shorter with nowhere near the athletic ability. He was also quite lazy on the defensive end and his rebounding. Jeter must have lit a fire under him at half because he was a completely different player.

No he just played soft.
Also Jimmy yelled at Ant and reminded him he wasn't a guard when he tried to run down court on a steal. Ant looked a Jimmy and shrugged him off...but Jeter laughed

This team needs to make it's free-throws. I hope it doesn't come to bite them this season.
I think Ryan Allen needs to be a main player for the Panthers. He can set the tone on both sides of the floor. Allen should be taking away playing time from Ajami.
It kind of looks like Kelm is ahead of Haggerty off the bench. McCallum doesn't seem like the answer as the back-up point guard.

Kelm can score. Haggerty still can't. And while Hags is a high-energy player, his total inability to put the ball in the hoop means he'll lose time to a player of equal height, speed, defense, and energy that can. Thus, Kelm.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Souter get significant minutes at the point. He's got a decent jumper now, and nobody ever doubted his speed and ability to read the passing lanes.

Man, Kaylon had 11 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals in 24 minutes. He is a stat-sheet stuffer. He doesn't figure to leave the court much this season. The five turnovers, though, must come down. It sounds like we played some UTEP ball, throwing the ball up at the rim and hoping something good would happen.
Not sure about Patrick getting significant minutes, as that pie will only divide so many ways. Even if Evan redshirts and Little Mitch doesn't play at all, that would still give us 13 players in the rotation.
In the meantime, I keep hearing that our best five are Williams, Boyle, Hill, Kelm and Allen. Is this accurate? If so, are our next best five McCallum, Boga, Carter, Meier and Ajami?

I wouldn't mind seeing Allen start over Ajami. Allen has the confidence to take shots inside when he has the ball, and the ability to make most of them. Plus, he's a better shot blocker and always gets a hand in someone's face when they are taking a three.
I'm a little disappointed with having Ja'Rob as a backup to Kaylon. I was excited to see the two of them together on the floor, hoping that Ja'Rob would get more open looks with a true point guard. I would hate to see him lose a significant amount of minutes this year. He's way too talented for that. But, we'll see how the season pans out. I trust that Jeter knows what's best for the team.
Only two more weeks until we're spoiled with 5 straight home games. Good way to start the season.

It kind of looks like Kelm is ahead of Haggerty off the bench. I'm pretty confident that Kelm is going to be the first big guy off the bench. He doesn't look or act like a freshman out there.

Ant needs to slow down and focus on his footwork, then he will succeed. He continues to establish prime post position, yet in the 1st half he rushed his shots in an attempt to immediately score. In the second half, he took the time to take advantage of his size and position; and as you noted, he looked like a different player.

DunneDeal, remember when Ant was a freshman and sophomore and we had all the Klotsche Krazies tell him how good he could be in the block when they ran into him on campus?
We did a serious amount of positive conditioning on that guy. It finally kicked in last year, but I won't take credit; I think it was playing against Mitch Carter in practice.
