I'd put this in the Bennedict thread, but I don't think he'll be here tomorrow, and I don't want this to be just a one time thing: If bennedict is ever an official at one of our games...have the students turn around for the entire first half/game/whatever...at the beginning of the game and any other time a call goes against UWM, we chant "Boy-cott Bennedict" *5 claps*...of course the rest of the time we chant with the cheerleaders and support the panthers...
otherwise, "Benedict Arnold" would be a good one

oh yeah, that reminded me of something else
"Whenever Benedict came to bat at home in Fulton County Stadium, the crowd would chant "BRUUUUUUUUUUCE" causing many opposing teams' fans to believe that he was being booed."
we could definitely play off of this one...have the students say bruuuuuuce and make everyone else think we were booing...

I was at Johnny Rockets tonight and their nickel jukebox had a ton of golden oldies that would be very good as classic sing a long songs. -any Jimmy Buffet song -Oh What a Night~the dells -Stop in the name of love~Supremes -Do Wah Diddy Diddy~manfred mann -Do you believe in magic~lovin' spoonful -you've lost that loving feeling~righteous brothers My favorite is "Cecillia" Paul Simon The Nationals are currently conducting a vote on songs for their new stadium. Most of these are available on Youtube. Options are: Home Run Song: Because We Can (Fatboy Slim), Bustin Loose (Chuck Brown), Kernkraft 400 (Zombie Nation), Off We Go--Air Force Theme (Robert Crawford), Song 2-Woo Hoo (Blur). 7th Inning Stretch: Build Me Up Buttercup (The Foundations), Rock Me Gently (Andy Kim), September (Earth Wind & Fire), Shout (Otis Day and the Knights), The Gambler (Kenny Rogers), Twist And Shout (the Beatles), YMCA (Village People), You Gotta Have Heart (Damn Yankees The Musical). Victory Song: Beautiful Day (U2), Celebration (Kool and the Gang), Dancing In The Streets (Martha Reeves and the Vandelas), How Do You Like Me Now (Toby Keith), Rock and Roll Part 2 (Gary Glitter). if you want to vote. here is the link: washington.nationals.mlb.com/was/fan_forum/fanvote_form.jsp(Note: I don't know how The Gambler or Toby Keith relate to DC, sports motivation, catchy tunes, or most importantly Nationals baseball. Kearns had a country song as his walkup music last year, but thats all I've got.)

the band has buttercup, YMCA, and Celebration in the playbook, but there is no way we're playing any of those other songs.
I don't think you'd have much luck with the sound guys at the Cell either

Come on, Matt. There's a bunch of them on there that would sound good for the band.
September is awesome, and Dancing in the Street would be the bomb diggity. Guaranteed props if you add those two to the repertoire.
We're already instituting "Jump On It" by the Sugarhill Gang for next season. I doubt any of the d-board members noticed, but we tried it once this season. The reason it failed? Take a guess -- it was during the under 4 minute TO in the second half of the UIC game.
It will be full on next season. I'm thinking the under 16 TO is better, somewhere in the middle of the second half.
