I agree with parker.
This team doesn't want to dunk, they fear missing the dunk and then sat. If you watch the CSU game Ant on that break when up, looked like he hesitated then tried to lay it up...of course missed but I think they fear dunking.
They can do it, they can do it in a game. But I think they risk/reward is so little.

MATT HOWARD of all people had four dunks against YSU, which I believe is more than UWM has all season. I know Jeter has downplayed dunking in interviews, but dunking can provide something, a spark to teammates, a way to get the crowd going, whatever. Youngstown and Valpo both had impressive dunks against us, and we won both games. Especially Youngstown.

CUBA CITY -- Evan Richard scored 33 points Friday to lift the Cuba City High boys basketball team to a 64-62 victory over visiting Fennimore.
The victory lifted the Cubans, ranked first in the state in Division 3, to a perfect 20-0.
Richard, a 6-foot-2 shooting guard who has signed to play in the fall at UW-Milwaukee, fell two points shy of his season high of 35 set in a 70-61 victory on Jan. 18 at Dodgeville and is now averaging 23.3 points per game.
Fennimore (15-5), which saw its six-game winning streak come to an end, lost to the Cubans 69-59 on Jan. 5 at Fennimore.
Cuba City will visit Riverdale (4-15) on Tuesday at approximately 7:30 p.m. and then close the regular season on Jan. 26 at Darlington, which improved to 17-2 Friday with a 52-40 victory over Mineral Point.

An accomplished scorer? No doubt he'll battle it out with McCallum for starting PG duties next season.

Richard is a shooting guard. The only way I can see them putting him at point would be to redshirt him for a year and teach him the position, which they probably won't do.

An accomplished scorer? No doubt he'll battle it out with McCallum for starting PG duties next season. Maybe for the SG spot...but I dont want to waste McCallum's scoring ability playing the point.

The last time we had a "true point guard" was last year when we had Avery Smith, and he averaged fewer assists per game than Ricky is this season.
In fact, the last time we were in the dance, nobody even came close to Ricky's assist numbers this year (3.9 per game); Hill was only averaging 2.8. Ricky is arguably the best point guard UWM's ever seen. Even in the Sweet Sixteen season, Hill was only averaging 3.2 APG.
Besides, our record has nothing to do with Ricky's abilities as a PG. We should have 16 wins right now but for the last-second losses to Valpo and CSU, which almost don't count.

Avery Smith was a true point guard? Really?
The best point guard Milwaukee's ever seen? Marc Mitchell. No argument.
And what do you mean last-second losses don't count? Quick, give Illinois a call and tell the Illini they owe a us a 2003 NCAA tournament second-round game. Our 70-69 loss to Notre Dame doesn't count!
