The key to this game can be summed up is six words: Score more points then they do.

They shot threes well, the last time 7-13, but I think we've improved defending them dramatically since then. Ricky needs to continue to improve with his shooting, and Paige needs to be more aggresive.
Our passing is also terrible, especially to the inside, thats got to get better.

A few of the keys to tonights game would be:
- Containing YSU's two guards. If they go off we dont stand a chance. - Shooting the ball well. If we can shoot 45% or better tonight we will at the very least be right there until the end. -Paulsen needs to step up his game. Hit some shots, I dont care if they are in the point of jump shots just make some.
I think this team was coming together before the Swiggett injury and since he went down I think it may have even brought the guys together more. I see a solid game by several guys again and leaving Ohio win two wins.
Milwaukee 68 YSU 61

Someone should tell these guys that the half doesn't end til the horn sounds. That last three for YSU was a totally open shot.

It was not a pretty game and another bad game for Paulsen. He is lucky this team has no other options in the front court this year otherwise I think he would find himself coming off the bench.
Nice game for Franklin and Thornton. Hopefully Thornton can find some consistent minutes going forward.

We made them look like Duke. We weren't prepared, we didn't defend well, most of the time we didn't wait for the good shot, we didn't hit the good shot when we got it, we didn't rebound. We looked bad in every aspect of the game.
The only word to describe this game is EMBARRASSMENT.
This team embarassed itself, the school and the fans.

This is indeed a horrid season.
I certainly hope they can pull off a winning record in 07.

This game was a step back. We have to expect that to happen this year with such a young team and on the road. Avo and Paige were dissapointing. This does not mean that the next one cannot be another step forward. The zone was killing us when we could not score from the outside. They just couldn't figure out a way to get past that. We looked very flat footed, they shot very well also. Ricky is continuing to play well but he could not do it alone. Ryan's really progressing nicely, moving the ball much better and the D is good enough. Some "way" outside shots though. We have a number of home games coming up. Let's get out there and support the team next week.

Heck, YSU easily has better talent than UWM.

Hit some shots, I dont care if they are in the point of jump shots just make some. After looking at the box score and what I said as keys I sure feel like I was right on. YSU's three starting guards combined for 53 points going 22 of 39 from the feild (56.4%), 23 rebounds and 11 assits. That would be failing to contain. Milwaukee 36% from the field for the game. This has just been a constant trend all year. And finally Paulsen, going a solid 1 for 6 from the field. He only saw 17 mintues of action otherwise it could have been even better. If Jeter continues to play zone I see no reason Thornton does not continue to get 12 to 15 minutes a game. Especially if teams continue to throw a zone D at them. I also wish Gentry would get more mintues to develope his game so he is ready to be more of a contributor next year.

Agreed, YSU is way better than Milwaukee at the moment. I saw some very encouraging things here, especially the play of Ricky Franklin and greatly expanded minutes for Ryan Thornton. For the rest of the season, I'd like to see the continued growth of the young players and the kind of defensive intensity that we saw for the second half of the CSU game and the first half against YSU. The sky is not falling here, guys. Let's get the kids ready for next season (and what a great season it could be).
