i'm sorry unless YSU is having a Butler-like year, an 18 pt. loss to them is never worth talking about positively. this was nothing short of embarrassing.

Agreed. This is only the second time YSU swept an opponent in its entire history. The other sweep was against Cleveland State.

1 step forward, 1 step back. That could end up being the story of this 2006-2007 season.
After a solid road win versus Cleveland St., UWM completely fell apart during this game. Terrible defense, could get nothing going on offense.
Let me just say that this one was very difficult to watch. And with that said...a tough game to be televised. Hopefully casual fans that tuned in aren't too disgusted with the display.
In an earlier post I said that having an 8-8 season would be great, but that I predict more like 6-10 or 7-9. If they continue to play like this they'll be lucky to get 5 wins. Others have said it as well...a lot of tough games left.

That game was what you should expect but not accept out of a young team at this point of the season. A very poor effort on defense, to say the least. And our season long handicap -- bad shooting -- has not gone away.
But you have to tip your hat somewhat to YSU -- their guards were really good at the mid-range pull up. I hated to see it against us but it's almost a lost art and it was nice to see some kids who could still do it.
And on the bright side there was obvious progress from Ricky and Ryan.

Oh, no doubt. Davis, Roberts and Humphrey are a great perimeter group. Plus, Humphrey will no doubt be in consideration for Horizon League Player of the Year...as he has in past seasons.
And I agree with the progress made by Franklin...his has really been over the past few games. And by Thornton.
Too bad that progress is over-shadowed by the loss.

A few of the keys to tonights game would be: - Containing YSU's two guards. If they go off we dont stand a chance. - Shooting the ball well. If we can shoot 45% or better tonight we will at the very least be right there until the end. -Paulsen needs to step up his game. Hit some shots, I dont care if they are in the point of jump shots just make some. If Jeter continues to play zone I see no reason Thornton does not continue to get 12 to 15 minutes a game. Especially if teams continue to throw a zone D at them. I also wish Gentry would get more mintues to develope his game so he is ready to be more of a contributor next year. I agree 100%. Play Thornton and Gentry a good 12-15 minutes/game and let them shoot the ball. That's why they were recruited.
