I'm hoping the good showing they had against Butler was actually the team playing better and not Butler having a very off night.
So...I'm hoping that good play carries over into the Detroit game.
I think it was the team playing better...

The team has gotten better in each of the last few games. A friend from Madison who came to several games with me said that the team he saw play Butler looked totally different than the one that played UAB, and Youngstown State.
Credit good coaching and the players desire to win.

I think it's going to be a very tough game. Detroit might finally be getting their act together, in view of the whacking they just gave GB in GB.
There was a lot of progress by the Panthers in the last two games. One of the problems with young teams is the propensity to take steps backward. I would really like to see us take a step forward tomorrow night. I'm really eager to see this game.

I really think this is a winnable game. The team seems to be playing well right now and Jeter has really tightend up his rotation which I think helps this team.
I would like to see a third scoring threat start to emerge as conference play begins. I think everyone out there now knows about Smith and Paulsen so we need one more to cause some problems for other teams.

Also, as I posted in the Butler thread, I want to see this...
Paige, if you have an open lane to the rim, take it and call for the ball!!!
Twice on mini breaks in the Butler game alone, he stopped on the wing about 15 feet out. He does this at least once a game and I can't figure out why. He doesn't even turn and take a look at the bucket.
Go to the dam hole, Paige!!!

What happened to Charlie? I thought he was gonna be our third scoring threat, but we haven't seen much of anything in the last 2 games.

There's not a game on the schedule for some time that this club is not capable of winning. They should be able to be in all of them. I'm not saying they will, but they are certainly in the game now. I hope we see a third scoring option come in. Could it be Kaylan? It would be best if it was Charlie since his defense is so good. I expect this game to be another step forward.

Wow, I'm surprised I'm the first to post this but, UWM played a great game tonight (for as bad as they have played in prev. games). Other teams, us fans, etc. are starting to take notice- UWM is getting better with each NCAA game of experience. Hey, 10 games is not out of the question this year! (just look at the remaining schedule...Loyola and Butler are the only games I would say are going to be a big challenege (and look how we fared against Butler- that should have been a W!). I'm not saying the other games are guarenteed wins, but we all have to admit the early part of the schedule was tough, and the team is improving considerably. I look forward to more progress and (gasp) maybe a decent winning streak...

This was a great game to watch. I was really happy for Thorton. To come through with the tying bucket in the clutch like that should give him the confidence he's been looking for.
Franklin didn't shoot well but he had a great game too. Avo was great too and Paulsen and Messiah held up their end.
Also very encouraging was the team's ability to come back after losing the lead. They didn't back down or back off. All in all comparing this team to the one we saw earlier in the season is like comparing night and day

Yes very nice game tonight.
Franklin played his best game of the season. Solid game all around, although most of his shots didn't fall they were right on the rim.
Great effort from everyone tonight.
I also noticed Hill was at the game.

As soon as I saw Thornton going in at the end of regulation I was smelling that buzzer 3.
Great game by Ricky, and a great turnaround in the end.
Solid game for the Panthers.

This was a great game to watch. I was really happy for Thorton. To come through with the tying bucket in the clutch like that should give him the confidence he's been looking for. How about giving Thornton a sniff of the court in OT? Nope, buried right back on the bench. It's evident to me Rob has a lot of growing to do as a game coach. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Coach Jeter supporter and was cheering as hard as anyone tonight, but these substitution patterns are baffling to me.

Ricky Franklin: 10 points, 9 boards, 3 steals, and solid D. He is picking up his game and looks very confident.
