Gentry, Hansen, and Thornton haven't played enough and taken enough shots. That's why they need more playing time because I've seen all the bricks I can see from Hanson and especially Franklin.

I say major props to Nick I was at the game and him and Skinner really were some bright spots kinda too bad Sam was in foul trouble> our undersized team getting fouls against them called all night was no surprise, but Sam didn't even touch the guy on his 4th foul.

I didn't read this whole thread but anyone taking shots at Stiemsma or Butch is nuts. They would start and star for us or any other Horizon team. Stiemsma intimidates every shot he's near. Butch had a lousy first half, then dominated the opening of the second half. We should be so lucky to ever get a true big man as good as either one. I can see your argument about Stiemsma but Butch is garbage and I hear Stiemsma has character issues.

I hear Stiemsma has character issues. Careful here. Some people in life have to overcome things that are not so easy to overcome.

In his defense, and given I don't know his intentions, I don't think he was referring to the problems Stiemsma has been dealing with. Ultimately those are something on a level majority of us will never be able to understand. I think panthers6thman was just referring to maybe social type issues. Not about his documented problems.

Someone who would know recently told me Greg was the kind of kid you'd want your daughter to marry. I think you're way off base here.
As for Brian, the Badgers would not be a top ten team without him -- it's that simple.

Over an entire season I'll take Butler over Wisconsin's second team. Remember, Wisconsin lost to Missouri State on a neutral court and if Marquette shoots better they lose to Marquette. Wisconsin is not invincible, damn good, but not invincible.

Saying that if Marquette had shot better against Wisconsin it would have won is like saying that if only it had had Steve Novak it would have won. Or if the Badgers had had Devin in 2005, they would have won the national championship. Let's all join hands and skip off to Neverland where we never get older and people never leave their alma maters.

By the way, Missouri State is a very fine basketball team that stands a chance a winning a terrific Missouri Valley Conference.

By the way, Missouri State is a very fine basketball team that stands a chance a winning a terrific Missouri Valley Conference. I couldn't agree more Dylan, I've been telling (and maybe I shouldn't have) everyone at work about MIZZOU State and how they could be a sweet sixteen team come tourney time along with Winthrop. I should've kept my mouth shut, damn I want to win this years work pool.

For those who think Stiemsma isn't that good, I have no clue what games you've been watching. The guy is instant defense in the paint off the bench. He rebounds well, blocks shots, and alters shots (which doesn't show in the box score). The reason he doesn't start is because he lacks the offensive skills that others in front of him are better at. You look back to 2004 and the UNC game, Sean May was having his way with the UW big's except Stiemsma who played him pretty well. But I digress because this is a UWM panther board and I feel like crap for discussing UW hoops here.

Like any one cares how we are referred to.
UW-Milwaukee, UW-Wisconsin, Wisc-Mil, etc.
I say stick it to 'em.
