I was in a very bad mood when I made those last few posts; now that I'm thinking more clearly, I believe that the attendance will pick up once the conference games come around... if I recall correctly, we had great attendance in mid-January and it kept up through March, so we'll have to see.
Unfortunately, since it would seem that we're not hosting the tourney this year our overall attendance will be considerably lower than it has been the past few years. Nevertheless, RJ and Bidlingmyer are really gunning to bring in solid recruits, so the team should be much better the next few seasons.

I think Jeter needs to get out and talk with the students and get them excited to come to the games.
Even last year after coming off of a sweet sixteen appearance the attendance seemed to be down and we were still winning! I think the excitement Pearl brought was a huge factor in bringing in the students in past years.
It is good to see more season ticket holders now, but we need to continue to push the students to be passionate because they are the future donors and season ticket holders.

Maybe they can hire a publicist because I think Jeter is way too shy to do this type of stuff. I've met Jeter a couple of times and Pearl once. Jeter has an exact opposite personality Pearl has (I'm not saying I "know" either of them, but judging from their behavior, one can pretty much make that inference). I wonder how many more people would be there if games were free.

That free entry you speak of has really boosted student attendance this season.

schweaty meant free for everyone i think...however, that is a bad bad idea...
think of all the season ticket holders who would be upset bc they paid for the game with their hard earned money and others get to go for free...unless they get refunded of course..

The games being free would be a ludicrous idea. Where would the revenue generate from for the athletic department if the games were free? The majority of the athletic department money is made from men's basketball (at least in the years past). How would you generate revenue?

I agree, I've met Rob twice, really nice guy, and I do not in any way claim to know him personally, but he did seem very reserved the two times we spoke, but you have to sell your program, especially one that is still in the very early stages of building. Pearl was just a go getter, and he got after people to come out and support the program.

The "how many people would go if games were free?" question was hypothetical. How many people would go to the games if they were free for everyone? Obviously, they can't do that.
