No one cares about athletics at this school. Period.
It it's not against Marquette, Wisconsin, or the Horizon League Championship don't expect much from the pathetic fanbase.

It's hard to argue with your comments futbol. Although I still think our fan base is continuing to grow, and through time we should see a difference.

Personally I believe most of the fans at this school are fair weather fans. I guess we'll see if attendance gets any better for conference games.

lol, you guys are ridiculous. its the end of a semester, finals are happening and we play off campus. yeah, you're not going to get a big student turn out. instead of b****ing about how pathetic we are after every game why don't the alumni stand up and do something. Im not trying to be defensive or pick a fight but I think the alumni here need to stop pointing fingers until their half of the fanbase is better too. Its not like the rest of the crowd is anywhere near loud or big enough. coming here and talking about how much the students suck does nothing. find something better to do with your time. After break if students are still no shows, start b****ing again but for now, point at yourselves for a while.

I think you are being defensive and did just pick a fight. sorry if thats what it comes off as. all I'm getting at is that the same people here have the same discussion putting down half our fanbase after every single home game. I think its time to stop and say what can we do to help the situation instead of complaining about the same things over and over.

A bunch of students have started coming in with their student tickets and then sitting in the regular seats because there is nobody in the student section. There have been plenty of empty regular seats and many students don't want to be one of 20 people in the student section. I like the idea of putting seats all the way down in the student section.

you know this board has had an ongoing theme the last three weeks which has prevented me from posting but this theme has been negativity... it seems everyone is negative with the way the team has been playing and negative with the fan turnout weve been having and to be real honest, its been quite pathetic... our current arena seats 11,000 people... our student section can hold what, 3,000 (this is a rough guess if anyone knows feel free to put this in) that leaves 8,000 seats for everyone else to fill up... now if you go by percentages im pretty sure the percentages filled by students and by alumni/casual fans are pretty damn close... i think we all need to stop b****ing at each other because the alumni feel its the students fault (which is a load of garbage with the way the games have been scheduled) and the students feel its the alumnis fault... which not necessarily the alumnis fault but we really dont have a lot of casual fans like marquette does... i know being a student, having to commute this year cause i cannot afford to live in milwaukee anymore and having a pretty damn close to fulltime job, i cannot make it to many games like i was able to last year... but i will be damned if i am going to listen to people, some of whom need to get off their high horse blast our student section that is going to be down when the team is not doing well because supposedly, we cannot find out when a game is and get our butts to the arena... its a matter of timing, and a matter of popularity... what we all need to do is talk about something else other than the attendence and the struggles of the team just something other than these two topics because they have been beaten like a rented mule... everyone says this is the future of our program with our recruiting class... well i for one am looking forward to our future and want to think positively about this so that if a recruit, such as keven johnson(who is on the board now by the way) comes on here to check in and see what the fans are like... doesnt see a bunch of negative complaining and fingerpointing because it looks terrible... absolutely terrible... sorry for the novel and i promise i will be at more games to come... hopefully attendance by fans of all types will improve in both number and energy as we move into the conference season. when the action on the court has given something to cheer about, such as the run to tie the score in the second half of the Tenn Tech game, I think the folks in the stands have responded pretty well. Brett, I don't want to pick at the details of your post too much as I'd hate to discourage you from participating in the discussion for another three weeks, but I think you may want to do a little math on those percentages. 30 out of 3,000 isn't a similar percentage to 2,000 out of 8,000.

i understand this ghola but if you look at the emptiness of the building all around it looks very similar... and im not a math major... the only math i need to know is how fast someone is going and how much over the speed limit that is... but i know they werent exact... i could have worded that better

Keep in mind as well that many students do choose to sit not in the student section. It's not like every person not in the two sections labeled students are alumni.

well, no matter who's in the seats, or where they're sitting or standing, hopefully the team will be able to transcend holidays, finals, student break, and scheduling to generate some interest sooner rather than later. the next Saturday home game that won't be impacted by any of the above challenges isn't until Jan 27 when UWGB comes to town - and there are only two home games remaining after that.
