should be quiet so yelling something to the affect of asking mike davis if he asked for a raise yet could be quite funny

I wish we had a Babe of the Day Forum.. What type of team should we expect to see out of UAB? What do UAB fans expect this year? Is this a team that is looking for a tournament bid? Or are you in complete rebuilding mode?

After watching that UAB - Wash St game last night, I think our offense should be able to gain some confidence. Didn't seem to me UAB likes to play any form of a defense.
We'll see how they look against Radford tonight.

Dominated in every aspect possible. They can't even pass properly. Get ready for a long, long season folks.
Score: 44-22 UAB FG: 17-27 (63%) UAB/ 8-27 UWM 3's: 5-7 (71%) UAB/ 5-14 UWM Rebounds: 19/11 Turnovers 6/11
Post the sign "all lanes open" on this court baby, ouch. No presence in the post on offense or defense.

51-24. Simply embarrassing.

All I gotta say is: ouch.
I don't even think the attendance was more than 2500. This team has a lot of work to do.

All in all, they looked like crap tonight, again. I don't know what Paige Paulsen offers against teams not named Radford, he hasn't shown anything over the past two nights. The ball goes into the post, and he doesn't even look to make a move.
Al Hanson... Ouch. He does not impress me, at all. And with him starting at point guard, UWM is in for a long season. He was lacking tonight in very fundamental aspects of basketball. He could not get the offense started inside 30 feet, and handled the pressure terribly. Driving into the lane with your head down is not going to get anything accomplished. Hit a few deep 3's, but could have taken 5 feet off each shot if he would step into the zone.
Marcus Skinner plays hard. He is one guy you can honestly say is working out there the entire game.
Ricky needs to keep the offense going the entire game. He becomes more and more hesitant as the game progresses. I think he's definitely got the skills to be a good player, just needs to keep that pace through the entire game.
Avo at least offered a scoring threat tonight, even though he was on the bench half of the game. It was at a whole new tempo when he was in, and I liked to see that. I'll take some missed shots for someone willing to attempt to score any day of the week.

Why doesn't Jeter go with a lineup of Mauldin, Paulsen, Skinner, Franklin and Avo...or Mauldin, Paulsen, Hanson, Franklin, and Avo... The post presence without Mauldin in there was horrendous. The offense is non-existant. The defense is spotty. I could have drove through the lane tonight...and I wouldn't even consider myself D-VII talent.
We have got to establish our gameplan because frankly I feel like we don't even have one...We have no swagger whatsoever. The only who has any is Allan Hanson and it's because he was really good friends with the guys who had swagger last year. (Joah, Boo, even McCoy) And he has been a large disappointment so far in my eyes. I thought he would have a standout season this year and so far it's not promising.
They have NO identity, and haven't yet figured out how to play as a team. Thank goodness it is only the beginning of the year because they'll get better. But for now, there will be a lot of growing pains. Swiggett will be amazing if he can harness his energy. Paulsen needs to be more alert on defense as does Skinner. They also need to grow 3 inches. I can't wait to watch this team play next year, but until then...it's gonna be a struggle.

There is one encouraging thing about tonight's contest.
They were much more aggressive going after rebounds and trying to get the ball inside in the second half. We outscored them in the second half.
To me that says the guys can learn and make adjustments.

That's true, milwsport. I never thought of it that way.
The first half was just so frustrating. I agree with JG Panthers: we NEED a leader to emerge. I honestly think it's going to be one of the young guys. This team will get better, but we have a difficult non-conf schedule: Michigan, Northern Iowa, Missouri State, Oakland (they beat UWGB tonight), and Wisconsin. The fact is, we're probably going to have a hideous record coming into the conference schedule.

After seeing the last two games, I think this is going to be a long season. Hopefully we can learn from these early games so we can be ready to make a run in the conference tourney. The talent is out there. But for now, it doesn't get any easier for a while, with road games against Big Ten teams coming up. Its a rebuilding year.

I think this weekend proves we can't go 3 guards. we need some size. Even if it means less "talent".
