Good start! Looks like UWM's going to have to force turnovers again this season to be effective defensively. Radford shot very close to 50 percent from the floor.

Anyone know where Maudlin is?? Injury acting up? He didn't play due to matchups. He will play against Wash St.

Just a couple of things.
I thought Radford was a much quicker team than us. So glad they didn't press the entire night, we might have lost.
I am a little concerned that it seemed we couldn't get a pass into the low blocks but a handfull of times. A few times it was open and they didn't even look for it.
Avo still needs to learn what to do with the ball once he blows by people.
Thornton is going to be fun to watch grow over the next four years. You can see the kid can and will shoot from anywhere.

Entertaining game. Here's my thoughts: 1. The attendance--not surprisingly--was garbage. I was hoping for more than 4500, and we got 3100. That has to go up. 2. Paulsen is a monster. Early candidate for Horizon League newcomer of the year IMO. 3. You could tell Swiggett had some kinks to work out, but once his confidence grows he'll be really good. 4. Ryan Thornton will also be good once he gets used to D1 basketball. When he had time, he sank shots. 5. Our intro video this season kind of sucks. I miss the one from last season 6. Ricky had a pretty bad game, but is also learning what's going on. That's all I got for now. WSU beat UAB, so UWM needs to be careful tomorrow.

yea... the intro video with the random car ride... they should have shown my car rides last year piling 9 screaming people into my buick and truckin to and from the games.... that that is fandamonium right there... on a high note though... glad to see we could play from behind and once we got the momentum back it seemed the young guys didnt want to give it up... garbage turnout for fans and students included... but oh well same ol same ol i guess

I thought UWM looked good once they settled in, got those first game jitters out of the way about 5 minutes into the game. Energy was good, wouldn't be surprised to see Swiggett starting by the Michigan game, he sees the floor extremely well, and offers a big body for a point guard, that kid is really strong. Also, I forgot how much Eugene hates UWM.

The weather didn't help the attendence tonight.
I expect a lot of what we might have had for a walk up crowd stayed home when it started raining and getting colder.

So, how big was #54 for Radford? Their roster lists him at 6'9" ....304 lbs. !!!!
Looks like Paulsen will be quite the post threat. Should be some great matchups with Covile. He looks like a man on a mission for us.
