The only thing I can say to this is that it's an exhibition game it means nothing basically. I equate this to the US men's soccer team tying Italy in the World Cup, means nothing. I'll take it that you didn't see the game since you're located in Washington. Trust those who were there and saw this fiasco: it didn't mean nothing. There are serious problems with this team right now without vast improvement from everyone, those who picked us 8th in the Horizon League will be proven correct.

Rangers expose Panthers' flaws By BOBBI ROQUEMORE broquemore@journalsentinel.com Posted: Nov. 1, 2006
Watching UW-Milwaukee drop a 77-71 decision to UW-Parkside was probably a jarring experience for the 3,074 who witnessed the exhibition basketball opener Wednesday night at the U.S. Cellular Arena.
While evidence of the Panthers' recent success is spelled out in six banners hanging near the ceiling, the current reality played out below in real time.
UWM is as inexperienced as it appears on paper. And that means opponents, even Division II Parkside, will be able to expose that weakness for the time being.
"You get what you deserve," Panthers coach Rob Jeter said. "We're not there yet. That's just the obvious."
The clearest example of UWM's present state came in how the Rangers diced up the Panthers' defense.
Parkside shot 58% from the floor, often catching the Panthers flat-footed and out of position.
"When you give up layups in transition and on back doors, those things really become big when you lose a game by six," Jeter said.
"I've got guys that are willing to work at doing things, but now we have to be efficient and smart. We're not smart yet. We're not picking up on things. It's going to take some time."
Yet there were some highlights for UWM to cling to, namely the play of junior Marcus Skinner.
The 6-foot-6 forward led UWM with 17 points and grabbed six rebounds. More importantly, he demonstrated consistent energy and smart decision-making on both ends of the floor, something his teammates could only achieve in spurts.
As expected, Skinner, junior guards Avery Smith and Allan Hanson, sophomore guard Ricky Franklin and junior forward Paige Paulsen started for the Panthers.
UWM trailed by as many as 14 in the first half but climbed back into contention later in the game.
Smith nailed a layup that reduced the Rangers' lead to 71-69 with 1 minute 25 seconds remaining.
But on the ensuing possession, Rangers sophomore guard Cory Brezovar converted a 15-footer from the baseline as the shot clock expired to snatch the momentum back and restore a four-point advantage.
Smith responded with another pair of free throws on the next possession.
Back the other way, Brezovar was on the hot seat again, this time with 19.9 seconds left as he attempted a one-and-one free throw. He made both to put Parkside back up by four, and the Rangers held on for the victory.
Swiggett sits: Freshman guard Charlie Swiggett was held out of the contest and has not practiced this week as a precaution while his eligibility is being confirmed by the NCAA.
Swiggett, from Chester, Pa., last attended Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass. It is the same institution as Marquette University's Lazar Hayward, whose eligibility was not cleared until just before the start of practice.
An athletic spokesman said Swiggett's eligibility is expected to be finalized no later than Friday.

I woke up this morning still just beside myself at the loss and why in the world Mckay played so much. He reminded me of Smith last year when each time he touched the ball he thought he had to try and score (by the way he looked much better already this year). And on top of that he could not make any of he shots to save his life.
Skinner was impressive and I think Paulsen showed he will be a solid player. I didnt see much from Franklin to impress me. Al looked solid which to me is a good thing for this team as he appears to be the guy to step up and lead this team for the next two year. Other than that the rest just sucked. Oh yeah....we are going to get killed game after game on the boards with the lack of size this team has.

2. Poulsen. He looks the part physically, but that's pretty much it. What drove me nuts is he guarded the inbound on the press and just fvcking stood there. Didn't jump up and down, didn't even raise his arms. Yet Jeter, to my complete amazement, didn't say a word. It was unbelievable. Paulsen put himself in position to score but simply couldn't put the ball in the hole. Inside, outside, it didn't matter. Has some decent post moves, but boy is he soft. He needs to watch some tape on Tigert to figure out how he physically needs to play. This guy pissed me off the whole night. He looked the part physically??? Really? I thought he looked pretty skinny. Too skinny to bang in the HL. Maybe all the comparisons to AT had me envisioning the next coming of AT...I was not impressed with PP.

No I didn't and that really means nothing I can read. But there's a reason the games are played and that's to work on things both good and bad. Is it alarming they lost, yes but is time to freak out NO. I would wait and see how they react in the next couple of games.

Oh yeah....we are going to get killed game after game on the boards with the lack of size this team has. We did outrebound them by 14. I don't think rebounding is as big an issue as the fact that we had a -5 assist to turnover ratio.

I don't think rebounding is as big an issue as the fact that we had a -5 assist to turnover ratio. and unless we can shoot like Kam Taylor, we don't want our guards playing like him. also, if Myles ever decides he should dunk again, he should have to run laps around Milwaukee for the next six hours.

And then he should continue running for bringing the concrete!
