Agreed, all those "credible sources" from Iowa St. message boards and rivals.com or whatever...like I said, not credible! There was never an official statement about anything except the meeting between ISU and Jeter. All I was waiting for was official word Personally, I think it's one thing to *discuss* and a whole other thing to *rant.* I could be exaggerating... but I think there was a lot more ranting.

To be honest, I'm shocked. The reports I've heard is that Rob turned ISU down - that's shocking.
Nonetheless, today is a great day to be a Panther fan!!!
Even though you never left Rob, a lot of us (me included) thought you were gone. So, WELCOME BACK!!

I am sure he would understand people's anger and frustration at the thought of him leaving. We are all human...even Coach Jeter.

This is amazing...I got up early (yes 8:00 is early for me) because I was expected to see some big news...this was not the big news I was expected but could not happier to hear.
All this talk about what Jeter leaving after a year says to recruits, wow now what does it say to recruits with him turning down a big 12 team to stay here? Look out fellow Horizon teams because Milwaukee is still here and not going anywhere.

This proves the appeal of Milwaukee basketball. To think that he would chose Milwaukee over Iowa State should help recruiting because they knew he will be here for the long run. Welcome back Swiggett!!!

Holy Mother of God!!!!!
This is like finding out they screwed up your mendical test and you don't actually have cancer!!!!!!!
Fear the Panther!!!!
The sky is the absolute limit now. I think this may keep other teams from sniffing around him for a while.
I wonder what the deciding factor was. It could NOT have been money. They simply have more.

I didnt take away the big ones, jsut some of the smaller ones. No need to keep some of that stuff around anymore. I left the main threads though. we can look back and see how silly we all were last night

;D (Just a thought... but some of you who got a bit too heated last night should edit a bit. Perhaps? Agreed, all those "credible sources" from Iowa St. message boards and rivals.com or whatever...like I said, not credible! There was never an official statement about anything except the meeting between ISU and Jeter. All I was waiting for was official word That's the problem with half those Rivals sites ... a lot of them work off heresay and "reliable sources" all the time without actually reporting facts.

I have never really posted on this board, but I do read it at least a couple times a week. I was reading a little yesterday and was actually pretty shocked at how quickly people started ripping into Rob Jeter. I intentionally did not post because I didn't want to jump to conclusions. For as much as people ranted on this board, it was completely unwarranted. This is the absolutely the best thing that could have happened to UWM. To be offered (so far reports are that he TURNED DOWN the offer) a job at a higher profile school, in a better conference and to turn around and say that he would rather coach for UWM is incredible for our program. I for one am a fan of Rob Jeter, and while his style isn't the same as our previous coach, he has done an incredible job to this point. He could have struck when the iron was hot and he didn't. We need to give a lot more respect to Rob Jeter, he has now earned it. I believe this shows that he has faith in the program, his recruits and the future of UWM athletics.
In Rob I trust.

Does it state anywhere that he turned down the job? It says that he's staying, not that he turned it down. Its all academic anyway, he's staying and so are the recruits.
