Sport, I like the pros and cons idea, but I think for the future of our program in recruiting, & scheduling, the MVC is without a doubt a better fit even if we our a middle of the road team in the MVC for the first few years. I got to beleive that the revenue's the AD has seen over the past five years have been record breaking considering the success of many of the sports teams and the development of a solid fan base. I would think that this would only increase if UWM was invited into the MVC.

another case of take it for what its worth but there supposedly the contract is on the table for a home and home with the evansville aces (a mvc bottom feeder) but supposedly its everything but signed at least on the evansville side. that and the northern iowa game next season are gonna be nice to see us with against the MVC

That would make a non-conference schedule of two games in the BCA Classic (probably Southern and Syracuse), at Northern Iowa, at Missouri St., Evansville, the Bracket Buster, Wyoming, at Oakland, South Dakota State, Tennessee Tech, at Wisconsin and three more (possibly Maryland).

the MVC is no longer a one bid conference either which is always attractive

How are they in Women's Basketball?

I would assume there would be greater thought put into the level of competing soccer programs in the MVC before womens basketball would be analyzed

Technically along with Mens basketball, our soccer programs are our "flagship" sports

Just curious...why is that bball30? i wouldnt say one is more important than the other but we have a soccer program with some fantastic players that is consistantly doing well and is arguably as successful as basketball.

Our mens soccer team is far more successful than basketball IMO, they have been great the last several years. Basketball just gets more media coverage. I think the soccer team has advanced to the second round of the NCAA tourny 5 years in a row and have come very close to knocking off the one seeds the past two years.
And I am not a soccer guy trying to pump the soccer teams.

I believe the soccer program made their 9th overall and 6th consecutive NCAA tourney this year, I would say that is a bit more successful than basketball

to reply on their womens BB, usually a 1-bid league, Missouri State has 2 final fours, 2001 + 1992. The last 2 WNIT champions where Creighton 04' and Missouri State 05'.
I dont know if you play baseball but they are a good baseball league also, Wichita is a perinial top 25 program with a national championship around 1990. Mo State was in the college world series in 2003 and produced last years AL rookie of the year(, Creigton's home field in Omaha has hosted the college world series for like 50 years in a row.
As a valley fan I say kick out Evansville and sign you guys up. On a side not: Butler tried joining a few years ago and was turned down.
