What are everyones feelings going into this game? Perosnally, I am not nearly as confident as I have been the previous three years HOWEVER this does not mean that I think we will lose...The last years I considered it a guarentee victory for the Panthers however, this year we will need to fight and claw the whole game...Lets put Butler out of their misery nice and early just like we did a few years ago when we trounced them 69-52 on national TV....Lets get America excited about Panther basketball come tourney time...WE can all do our part and start by laying down the law and protecting home court against Butler on Tuesday...
Lets fire up Milwaukee

Saw some of the players at the women's game. They are pumped for this, and they should be.

I really think the guys are more prepared for this now than last year. Nearly everyone has been though this before and I dont think the pressure should not be a big issue. I think Butler will feel the pressure if we can get off to a solid start like last night. If Polk gets into foul trouble game over for Butler.
I almost expect a message game from Tucker saying to all voters they made a mistake not making him player of the year.
I just hope that if they win they get seeded somewhere warm for the tourny like San Diego, man do I need to go somewhere warm over spring break.

I almost expect a message game from Tucker saying to all voters they made a mistake not making him player of the year. As long as his "message" is within the team concept. Joah scares me sometimes by trying to do too much. I felt he restrained himself nicely from getting into a one on one duel with Schilb.

Butler is rarely ever out of a game because of their three point shooting. Even if Polk gets into foul trouble they'll keep launching threes.
It's going to be two hours of tense ball. The game will not be over until the horn sounds.

While I agree that Butler may never be out of a game because of the way they can shoot the 3, the inside presence Polk provides is key to them getting some of the looks they get. Other than him they have nothing inside and their three guards rarely if ever drive and shoot, so with Polk out guys can stay on their man.

Some random thoughts here
1) We have to stop the 3 ball from BU 2) It is up to US to make the Cell a living hell for the guys from Futler. They are used to playing in front of a few thousand people at other league schools. WE have to show them how hard it can be to hit those 3's with nearly 11,000 people screaming at you to miss 3) Our experience will help 4) IF we win let's go someplace close. A trip to SD will mean far fewer fans as a lot of us won't be able to afford to go.

I obviously agree with the "jump on them early" theory. I also hope Tucker has a big game and usually he does. It seems that in recent games, in recent years, that nobody on Futler can stop him when he gets it in the paint. Then again, not many people can unless they double-team him.
It's no different than all season really. If they do the things that got them here well and stay away from turnovers, poor shooting(FT's included), and weak transition D, they'll be money!
Futler can hurt you with the 3 ball more than anyone. Guys have to get back and help on defense.
So, there's my generic advice on the game. Honestly though, we all know it's going to be a battle...UWM/Butler games usually are.
Do what got you here!

We need to come out swinging at them right away. Let them know it's our game in our house!!! I am hoping for The Palace in Auburn Hills. My wife's family is from there so we are counting on a nice long weekend. How about a pre-game at Big Buck Brewery www.bigbuck.com right near The Palace. My only other option to seeing them play would be the Dayton site.

Big Buck would be a good option for any visiting Panther fans. Great food, pretty good beer.

Let me just say that I love the optimism and positive energy here on the board.
There is still a game to be played...I think everyone knows that though.
However, here is my prediction...
UWM - 62 BU - 58

I am predicting a 10+ point win for the Panthers.
If it turns out to be a close game, I don't think we are going to win......that would mean BU is probably shooting the ball well, and I can just see one of those guys getting hot right at the end and winning the game for them.
We need to come out ON FIRE, like we did against Butler in 03.
