I agree with the thought that we should either press or not press. I think showing press thoughout a game keeps it in the back of the mind of a team and will not give away the fact that they are going to press when they do.
I think that if you take a look at minutes played over the last several games you will see Jeter is using the bench less and less (for obvious reasons) and the starters are all playing around or over 30 minutes a game (minus McCoy). When you are playing that many minutes it is hard to apply the all out full court press us fans grew use to under Pearl. Mix in playing on the road which is already more draining as a player and the fact that Jeter is not from a coaching circle that embraces the use of the press and I think you have a good idea why all the team is doing as of late is a token press.

I'm not bashing Jeter, I'm trying to understand what he's trying to do with the press. And I'm not the only one. It doesn't take a lot of critical thinking just to be loyal to a guy because he's your team's coach.

Hey pal, if someone brings me up in a thread, I'm going to respond. Don't read it if you don't like it.

What I've seen here is perfect basketball - pressure defense, pushing the ball up the floor in transistion, and nice ball-movement in the half-court set. 61% field goal shooting also doesn't hurt
