Ah well, we always play in bad in Green Bay. Not a big deal. Lost there last year, when the game actually mattered between the two schools, but we still went to the Sweet 16.
This loss is good for the team. I only expect 1-2 more this year.
Go Panthers!

Jason Williams...worst color commentator ever. I especially liked the free advertisement he gave for himself, about hoping to catch on with an NBA team during the summer league. That was really insightful. Damn, J.J. Redick is breaking all my records!
Woo hoo hoo!

We dont ever seem fired up for the game at Green Bay. Its becoming a traditional loss. Meanwhile this is Green Bay's biggest game of the year, its their super bowl. We really need to start focusing on this game.

I think it's about time for that D-board header pic of Joah to come down. 1-8 from the FT line, 0-6 from 3, and more mental errors down the stretch than I care to recall. He's playing more like a freshman than a senior, and it's not like this is just a new development with his 2nd half this game. Or last game. He's just not been there when this team needs him most. Unless you count throwing the game away as being "there". He needs to get his head on straight, and fast!

This sums it up nicely... livestats.uwmpanthers.collegesports.com/livestats/data/m-baskbl/387989/gt_index.htmlClick on the "GAME FLOW" tab. Nice picture painted of the 2nd half. A 15-0 run by tod's crew. And AT almost single-handedly brings us back to within 1 before we complete our implosion. I almost feel sorry for myself staying up all night to listen to this game. It's almost 3 am here now, and I have to be up at 0600 Oh well. Hopefully this will be the much needed wake-up call, and the prelude to another, even longer win streak as we have a history of doing. And I agree completely Freak with your assessment of this being GB's "Big Game" the last 2 years, and us seemingly not getting up for it.

First off, props to GB. They played a great game IMO. They're probably going to have a very good team in the coming years.
This was an unfortunate loss, especially being nationally televised. Yeah, we lost there last year, but not on national TV. I wonder what this televised loss to a probable middle-of-the-conference team will do to a seeding, should we happen to win the conference tournament. Any hopes of an at-large bid now are pretty much out the window IMO as I see us losing at least one more game, probably @butler and/or @loyola, maybe even one at home. However, I think Coach Jeter learned a very valuable lesson, at least I hope he learned something.
I think the team let their guard down in the second half, and that is something you absolutely cannot do on the road. There was absolutely no D on their shots. They shot over 50%. The stretch where GB took the lead had only one consistent offensive threat in the game, AT, and we looked horrible attempting to take care of the ball. I don't think we can afford those kind of lineups for prolonged periods of time on the road in tight games. Once GB took the lead, we seemed to give up. We don't seem to put teams away when we can and that's not a good thing when every team playing us considers this game their season-making game.
Joah really needs to tone down the hopes of the NBA IMO. His three point shooting is very spotty, and he takes far too many shots from out there, making far too few. He was absolutely unstoppable inside today, but wound up 0-6 outside the arc. His free throw shooting today was horrible as well. He needs to concentrate on maximizing the things he does well and minimizing the things he still can't seem to do consistently.
Unfortunate loss, yes this is still a great team, and one that should win the regular season Horizon title. But I hate leaving our chances of a tournament invite up to one game in the tournament. This also greatly hurt our seeding IMO.
Oh well, who's got next?

What a crappy game yesterday. The team had dodged some bullets the last few games and this time they got hit. Joah's suspect free throw shooting and love for the long ball really hurt them. Lack of bench scoring really hurts with the depth Jeter likes to play. The team just does nothing when the bench is in. Hanson is starting to hit some shots, but still does not create for anyone else when he is in there.
Hopefully this loss wakes the team up, especially Tucker.

I agree with we always play horrible in GB. There's just something about the Resch our team does not like! The game was truly horrible to watch when everytime we would get down near the paint we would cough up the ball off a simple pass time and time again. We certainly did not look like a veteran team. As the announcer said, the roles were switched last night, the we were playing like the team full of youths.
However, if the loss wasn't in GB I would be more disappointed...but i just know that we have blown it up there times before and this was no different. If anything I hope it is a humbling experience for these guys to realize they are human on the court. Enough of this walking in as former sweet sixteen team UWM, that was then and this is now! Plus, a loss is expected when everyone in the conf. is out to knock off the top team! Any team that would've beat us would have been considered an upset.

So quick observations after a sleepless night to think about the loss:
1, No more "Not our rival" chants, OK? After three losses in four years at the Resch, what we have here is a full-blown rivalry.
2, I know that the computer is unbiased, but it sure seems as though it somehow took into consideration an "intrastate rivalry factor" in this loss. I realize this isn't the case and the team was greatly helped by past opponents, but it seems that somehow such a provision could be worked into the formula.
3, Green Bay — and more specifically Ryan Evanochko — is flat-out better than I thought. He plays in control and with tremendous heart. I look forward to his graduation after next season.
4, It's interesting that there's a "Tucker to the bench" thread on this board. I think the time may have come for Joah to start a game on the pines to better understand what he should be doing out on the floor. Look, he shot 10-of-12 from two-point range and 0-of-6 from three-point range. The free throws, I believe, are another sign of lack of focus.
5, Who was on the court during the decisive 15-0 second-half run but Derrick Wimmer. Could someone please explain to me why? He brings nothing. He's an absolute defensive liability, is a train wreck with the ball in his hands and can't make an open jump shot to save his life. This is not the time to be experimenting with rotations.

Sorry little d but it's just not there. He was put in the game to make a three, had an open look and bricked it... again. He hasn't made one all year. Why not put in Nick Hansen? Boy that scholarship would come in handy next year.

This is the third game in a row where we had a collapse about midway through the second half. Something's wrong.
I hope it's just that they are taking our opponents too lightly and when they have the game under control they ease up, this loss should've fixed that.

Wow that game really sucked. UWGB (Ryan Evanochko especially) deserves a lot of credit for the win. They wanted this game bad, and our players totally obliged them. We came out hard at the start of the game, but after we got up during the first half I just watched the intensity die.
Joah Tucker has to seriously look at himself in the mirror, and figure out if he wants to 1) have any chance of playing basketball professionally later on 2) figure out if he wants this team to make it to the NCAA tournament and 3) realize that he is not a 2 guard so stop shooting 6 three pointers in a !#@$!@% game! This team is what should matter to every player. If he wants to impress NBA scouts then play your part in the offense, play defense, and make sure what you do is helping this team win. Ed McCants, and Joah Tucker got their names out during the tournament because of UWM's success. If we keep winning then in the end Joah will win.
Not only did Joah's threes sicken me, but I felt like at the end of the game he became selfish on the offensive end. I watched him face multiple triple teams with minutes left in the game, and yet he still went up for the basket while open men were on the perimeter. Also the word free throws should sum up his other problem. I don't mean to pile on him because he did great in scoring 21 points, but his errors also were some of the main reasons we lost.
The next thing is defending Ryan Evanochko. I realize that Avery Smith is in Rob Jeter's doghouse, but to me he is our best guard at defending. It's just my opinion, but I think Rob should have locked Avery on him because without Evanochko UWGB gets killed. By the end of the game I was just conceding that Evanochko would shoot a jumper with a few seconds remaining on the shot clock and make it.
Finally, the offense looked like sh*t against UWGB's zone.
P.S. Did anyone else see Aswan Minatee hold McCoy's leg so that he couldn't get down court? I still can't believe the refs missed that call. I hope this game lights a fire under our guys asses.

i'm not gonna talk about the game itself b/c that means i have to remember it so i'll touch on other aspects: 1) "Towers of Beer" are an absolutely beautiful sight. not only are they the 8th wonder of the world but for $14 it's highway robbery. Can dutch or the other guy (sorry i don't know your name) PM me the pics you took when you get a chance? 2) Great pre-game gathering at the Stadium View, definitely was a fun time. especially when we all were openly cheering for West Virginia and that one guy in the corner was an MU fan. 3) does anyone know if Dutch ever got arrested? 4) after further reviewed jdbrew should've KO'd that 160 lbs. cracker who tried acting like a big-shot after the game. 5) if you haven't seen nip/tuck, don't call me a fag. u know who you are 6) i still f*cking hate Green Bay, WI. if only my Bucs played there in '06
