Pomeroy has a nice listing of bracket buster games. Some nice teams. I would love to see Missouri State, Indiana State, or Bucknell here. After that, its slim pickins'. I hope some of the 100+ teams can improve their RPI... kenpom.com/sked.php?team=Bracket%20Buster&t=p

I'd like to see Tennessee Tech here to wipe out that bad loss

Won't happen because Tenn. Tech is already coming back here for a game next year. Not going to play the same non-conference team twice in the same season two years in a row.

I would like to see Bucknell or Nevada. That way if we slip up in the conference tourney it would help for an at large berth.

Can't be Nevada. The Wolf Pack is slotted as a home team as well.

Indiana State would be fun just cause of it being Larry Bird's ol stomping grounds but I dont really care to be honest as llong as we get an opponent who gets some exposure as an elite mid-major and we beat em

Mo. St is looking better and better every day, simply because everyone besides Bucknell on the "Away" side is looking so much worse. If CAA "Home" team ODU stays near us in the RPI over the next 2 weeks, then we'll likely be playing George Mason. BB pairings board: www.wku.edu/~cortney.basham/busterj17.htmHere's hoping we land one of the top 2-billed games, otherwise we might not have a chance at a marque win after all. And wouldn't that suck if we got stuck with a ~.500 Southland conference team. The only thing that might save us is ESPN wanting to showcase one HL team ahead of the second, third and fourth MVC team games...because there could easily be 4 "Home" teams from the Valley ahead of us in the RPI in two weeks. Thoughts?

Bracket Buster failed Mid Major basketball. Its time to drop it like a bad habit.

Although I see why you feel this way, I think we'd be hard pressed to find another "quality" OOC home-and-home, let alone a guaranteed one against a peer in the RPI. And then there's the national TV exposure we've gotten from it every single year.

Because I'd rather see Bucknell or Mo St over G.M. 1. Both have RPI's about 15 spots higher than G.M. Therefore, less of a chance of dropping out of the RPI top 50 before Selection Sunday and us losing our coveted "quality win", which is much needed for seeding, among other reasons (at-large chances ). ;D 2. Bucknell has probably the most name recognition of any mid-major besides Gonzaga right now, mainly thanks to ESPN hype...then again it's not hype if it's real is it? And the have REALLY knocked off some big programs the last two years! 3. I'd rather our return game next year be against a good MVC team than a good CAA team. Conference strength/RPI reasons mostly, but also due to closer proximity travel-wise for the team and its fans. Are you a George Mason fan by chance? Either way, welcome to the board!

big week for the potential bracket buster matchups (besides the fact that the selections occur on Sunday) as Bucknell plays at Lehigh (1/25) who are tied for the for the Patriot League. Missoura State plays at Bradley (4-5, 10-7) on Wednesday and at Indiana State (1-8, 8-9) on Sunday 1pm. George Mason plays at home on Thursday and Saturday vs. bottom-feeder William & Mary but then vs. Old Dominion, who's in a three-way tie for 1st in the conference. should be a doozy. does anyone know a time when the announcement will be made for the matchups?
