He is our coach... and he deserves the clap. Let's give him some serious love in the last minute of the UWGB game. Come on Milwaukee... let's show Rob we're behind him. I wouldn't wish "the clap" on anyone ;D Art Vandelay

"The clap" is sacred and must be treated and administered with extreme care.
I was not an advocate of doing "the clap" at the beginning of this season.
It is time.

I'm going to agree. I was very doubtful about Jeter for quite some time, but there was somthing about the game that changed my mind. His intensity was nice to see, as was the pissed off look he had at the end of the game. I liked it a lot.

Might be time to break out the "Rob-bie, Je-ter" chant at the end of games. Rob-bie, Je-ter, clap, clap, clap-clap, clap! Rob-bie, Je-ter, clap, clap, clap-clap, clap! Rob-bie, Je-ter, clap, clap, clap-clap, clap! I wouldn't break that out just yet and I think we would have to come up with something original not just his name and some claps something unique. He showed though that he can get his players to rally. It was very encouraging to see him get a technical and then, that is when the team goes on their run. Very impressive especially at the Kohl Center

Very impressive especially at the Kohl Center Umm, if I'm not mistaken, after RJ's technical, Wisconsin went on the run. Not that he deserved the T, but once given, not very impressive from a UWM standpoint.

It was nice to hear RJ get the clap after the GB game. I'm sure he appreciated it and I also think it sends a message to the team that the fans are behind our coach

We wanted the more complex clap but I don't think our freshmen could handle it.
By the way, being nice to anyone in the crowd is not an option anymore as I not only lost my spot, I got literally punched in the head. The GB game was a non-fun one to attend.

Pancratz and a few other guys looked back at the student section and smiled when we started the clap. I think they're happy it's back too.

What did they go on a 4 pt run seriously----- WE WENT ON A RUN i.e. 20-point first-half deficit. They didn’t score for almost 7 minutes. It was 68-66 with 38 seconds left in the game and then we had to foul them-------HOW CAN YOU CALL THAT A RUN? So what isn’t impressive?

Wisconsin (yes, they are Wisconsin just like we want to be called Milwaukee) went on a 9-0 run after Jeter's technical (not Joah's) ... look at the play-by-play from the game or just read this: www.jsonline.com/badger/bkb/dec05/378164.asp"This time, the technical was on Jeter after he protested the lack of a call on a dunk attempt by Kevin Massiah with 8:21 to go. After the call, Wisconsin went on a 9-0 run and took a 61-52 lead with 5½ minutes left. "Taylor and Michael Flowers sparked the run. Taylor’s two free throws gave UW a 54-52 lead and after sophomore Brian Butch sank a jumper, Flowers drove the paint for a score. Later, he drilled a three as the shot clock ran out after Taylor found him in the corner. "That basket pushed Wisconsin’s lead to 61-52 with less than 6 minutes left."

The fans warming up to Jeter can be compared to meeting your best friend's new girlfriend. At first you are excited that your buddy found a new girlfriend after the last one dumped him for a richer, better looking, more successful guy. Then you are a bit unsure if she is right for your buddy. You sit back and observe. She seems ok, but but as good as the last one? Your're not quite certain of that yet. Then she starts to grow on you....buying shots at the bar, not complaining when you have guys night out. Suddenly you realize that though she is may not be like the last one, she is still pretty good, just different. I think that the Wisconsin game (sorry panthers6thman, that is what they are called) is where the team completely bought into the swing offense and executed it. I believe this will be considered the turning point in the season when all is said and done. The Green Bay game really showed the fans that this team is very talented and can make another NCAA run this year, even without Pearl. I think the fans realized this team is something special and rewarded Jeter with the "Robbie Jeter" chant.
Now if they would just reward us with some Chicken.

The thing we all need to realize with Jeter is that this is his first year. He is going to make some mistakes. The good thing is that this is a senior laided team. He earned a ton of respect with me when he said in his press conference that a loss is a loss, and that nothing else matters. Good luch coach, we are behind you 100%.

Olson, great first post. Welcome to the board.
6thman, Wisconsin will always be Wisconsin. Their formal name is the University of Wisconsin. Not the University of Wisconsin - Madison. That school has never had the Madison part of their name unless it is a UW system meeting or something intra-system. While you may argue that sports should follow suit, it's not going to happen.
Our formal name is the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Until we change the formal name to the University of Milwaukee, Milwaukee University, or Wisconsin State University, we will keep the hyphenated crap.
UNC-Charlotte is going through the same identity crisis that we are.
It is unfortunate that we are hyphenated. But Wisconsin is still Wisconsin.
Question: Has anyone in the last year brought up a possible name change for our school? I don't usually listen to student government or regent meetings, so I'm not in the loop.
