Simple question to all of you.....as of today, do you feel Jeter is doing a good job as Head Coach of the Panthers?

He's doing fine. He's new to this and has plenty to learn, but he's smart, confident, a great recruiter and was tutored by one of the best in the business. I think he really likes Milwaukee and it's apparent he wants to continue to elevate this program.
I thought he was the obvious good choice when Pearl left and I still do.

As long as he's got Avo in there for 20+ minutes a game he'll be ok Seriously I think that he has been the better coach on the court for 2 consecutive games. Soderberg being one of them skews this number, and I don't think I can say I fully approve yet (nor can I say I fully don't). He needs to keep making progress to a point where I can say he's going to have a shot at being the best coach on the court every night and I can't say that right now.

When you play against teams like Memphis and UW, asking Jeter to be the "better" coach is a pretty lofty, and possibly unrealistic, expectation.
He has definitely risen to the challenge and has shown improvement each game. It's a learning curve for him, just as it is for his players.
He's doing an excellent job.

I only ask that he be at a point where I can realistically "hope" he has a shot to outcoach the big guys. Not where I "expect" he will. Although I realize we shouldn't be comparing him to Bruce, he's a well known figure that everyone on the board knows very well. We never expected that Bruce was going to out-coach a superior school but given his track record, the realistic hope existed.
Robbie's obviously not at this point and when he gets there by consistently outcoaching inferior opponents and/or actually out-coaching a superior one then he's doing an Excellent job. If he pulls off a Madison miracle I think he's going to win a lot of support from everyone in the city. If he even makes it close I think he's done the same.
I guess the initial question was whether he is doing a "good" job. Yup. he's recovered after a few bumps to the status of not doing a bad one.

Couple of bumps? Sorry, but I'm going to defend RJ on this. He lost to Memphis, at Memphis. They are ranked #5 and gave Duke all it could handle. Memphis may very well be the best team in the country - we'll see how things play out.
He also lost to Tennessee Tech, at TTU where they are about 85-5 at home.
I'd hardly call these bumps. These were tough games. The Memphis game nearly impossible to win, and we almost pulled it out against TTU.
RJ has done an excellent job this far and will only continue to get better. One of the important things is for the seniors to accept his system. If that happens, this team will be very, very good. Once RJ gets "his guys" here, this team will be outstanding.

he's done a very good job thus far. no way were we going to beat Memphis and we were in a position to beat TTU with major foul trouble. you can't ask for much more out of a new coach coaching a new system to an established team. i'd echo 97's comments, this team will only continue to get better.

Yes, yes, yes.
Hawaii was the greatest non-conference home win in our short basketball history. 4-2.
