Actually Fred, I tell ya. As any true fan knows, when the team picked to finish second in a conference loses that badly, that means the conference isn't very good.
I used to root for MU AND UWM. Then I wrote a letter into the Journal urging a game between the two. The letter was in response to Crean's comment that only Wisconsin is in his league.
Part of that letter said that given Bo Ryan's scheduling of all of Wisconsin's Division I teams, he is head and shoulders above Crean's league.
And guess what? Crean called me up to b**** me out. I couldn't believe it. The guy makes almost 900k a year and he makes belligerant calls to people who write letters he doesn't like.
Eventually (during his second call to me) he said that maybe the two schools should play. Said he was tired of his players being called cowards.
And that's the rub guy. Most fans in Milwaukee believe that for the last two years, UWM would have beaten MU. Maybe they would have, maybe not. But it wasn't fair to the MU players not to have a chance to show they were still #1 and it wasn't fair the Panther players not to have a chance to show they weren't.
He said he'd send me a media guide and some tickets for last season. I gave him address and he was like "Oh you don't mind giving me your address." I didn't until he said that. LOL
I got the guide but didn't get the tickets. It's just as well. He is a great coach. An OUTSTANDING coach, but that doesn't excuse belligerent phone calls to someone over a letter to the paper.
Those calls showed me he is afraid to play us. He knows we could win (and probably would've have won last year).
Come up with all the excuses you want to, but isn't it funny that UW will play and UW-GB even though we have beaten them once and came within one tick of the clock of doing it again three years ago?
Why is it that those excuses don't matter to UW but they do to MU?
That having been said I watched MU beat S. Carolina. They are a good team. Alot better than people think they are. Good luck to them. But better luck to the Panthers

Enjoying the Tech announcers and there extremely thick southern accents butchering the names.
Need to start shooting the rock better; good hustle to get the boards though.
Another charge tech w/7 team fouls.

quality minutes from Hanson, Hansen and Bendal in the first half - it would be great to get consistent contributions from these guys
