I would just to point out that McCoy had 2 points, 1 board, and 1 foul in 18 minutes. THAT IS HORRRRRRRIBLE neither he nor Derrick Ford deserves playing time with numbers like that. One thing i think we should look at is the lack of scoring/contributing off the bench. Who can step up and do it?

Through a megaphone
Step away from the edge. There is plenty to live for. Life is not over just because UWM has lost 2 games.
Geez...lose 2 games and it's like the world is coming to an end. Is it Jeter's fault the team shot 30.8% last night?
Here's something to put into perspective. The 2001-2002 season was Bo Ryan's first year at UW. A full season removed from the Final Four, the team started 1-4, with losses to powerhouses such as UNLV, Weber St. and Hawaii. Their only win in the first 5 games was against Hawaii-Hilo. What happened to that team? They went on to win the Big Ten regular season title (well, share it at least). And Ryan had been a head coach before.
Enter this season with UWM...Jeter has never been a coach, and we are 1-2. Our losses have been on the road, one against a team that put a pretty big scare into Duke and is ranked pretty high, and another who rarely loses at home. Give some time for the players to learn the offense. Wisconsin players had a rough non-conference record that year, but played well enough in conference to win the thing. I'm sure the same thing will happen here. If we win the conference and the tournament, all will be well. Just give time.

Thanks for the UW history NMF... I was following Illinois in the days that UWM alum Weber took over for Self and they experienced a rough early season transition from the high-low to the motion offense, but mid conference season they got it together and look where they went from there a season later. (of course Weber was riding Self's great recruits)

Hey Panther97 Realize last night I was really upset. Looking in hindsight back at the game its not the end of the world. I do get irritated when we dont win and I do put a lot of emotion and value into UWM...I want us to win as bad as any fan out there. When we lose I get upset...Apologies for anyone I offended, I just needed to blow some steam off last night Seriously, reading the posts here makes me sick to my stomach. Some people on here have incredibly delirious expectations. Womack, you seriously need to calm down. Listening to the game, when UWM took quick shots, some of them in transition, is when TTU's lead opened up. When we started to play the offense, that's when the lead was chipped away. I hope there's a lesson to be learned there. We all need to keep in mind that TTU is a tough, if not near impossible team to beat at home. They shot well, we didn't. We missed alot of easy buckets, open shots, etc. That's not RJ's fault. We played out of the offense and allowed the game to get away. That's not RJ's fault. Poor execution is the fault of the men on the floor. This team, nor many others, would beat anyone shooting 31% and turning the ball over 17 times. Let's hope they can turn it around against SLU.

Sheesh. I thought I had enough of Chris Hill forcing the ball up the court in the Memphis game.
<-------------not worried, neither should some of you be.
Very good references, to Illinois and Wisconsin in their coaches' first seasons.
Last year, we lost to Valparaiso in the non-conference season.

Fan, Call it what you want, but yes, people are overreacting. And forgive me if I think some of these hard-core fans[/b] are acting like idiots, but they are. Just because people will act like the sky is falling doesn't make it admirable. [/quote] I think the biggest overreactors have given us adequate "back off" statements, as any sane person would assume they would. I don't understand why there are so many people on the board who follow the overreaction with comments that people are stupid or have never watched a game of basketball? Give them a day to rethink, sober up or what have you. They deserve the benefit of the doubt before you start crying "witch". I agree that it is not admirable for people to go chicken little over 2 losses. Given that people are so apt to give case studies in which teams have succeeded after poor starts with new coaches, I would like to point to the Butler program. Additionally it should be pointed out that none of these coaches had zero head coaching experience. I think I should reitterate my statement from before. I don't think Jeter is a bad coach. I'm just waiting before I call him a good one. In the mean time I'll play devil's advocate with those of you annointing him as "good".

In the mean time I'll play devil's advocate with those of you annointing him as "good". Ok, I can respect that point of view. It is too early to make ANY judgment, IMO. For the record, I am not suggesting that anyone out there is an idiot, or has never watched a game, just that certain comments could make an observer think that.
