This is what I found on Jeter during his playing days there:
8th highest scorer in school's history (1,387) Holds record for highest FG% in a single season (62.5%, '88-'89) Holds record for highest career FG% (60.1%, '87-'91) Most Points Teammates in a season (1,097 Shawn Frison (557) / Robby Jeter (540), '90-'91) Placed on All-Tournament Team along with Frison for '91 national championship team

may as well start the talk for tonight's game. what do people hope to see in terms of progression from the last exhibition? i'd like to see the starters go a bit deeper so we get a better feel for their chemistry. granted we know what it's like for the most part, but the 5th starting spot is still up in the air. chances are it could be like that for a while. last year we didn't truly find our rotations until after the Wisconsin game. i also hope to see the bigs dominate more. D Ford has got to become a presence. it may never happen to the level we'd like to see but he has plenty of room for improvement. i'm also interested in seeing them continue to work on the half court offense.
anyone care to predict attendance? i'll be surprised if we top last week's, but then again i wasn't expecting over 4,000 people to show up for that game. i'm sure platteville fans will travel so that should impact the game.

Things I want to see: 1) Improvement from Tyrone Young. I'll be honest, I wasn't all that impressed last week. He needs to show an understanding of the offense and consistency on defense. He looked lost on both ends of the floor last week. 2) More fluid offense. They looked lost last week. When the "smalls" got the ball on the blocks, they had no clue what to do with it. Many of the entrance passes were either missed entirely or late - this is a key to the swing offense. Other than AT, none of the bigs knew what to do on the blocks and I don't remember seeing JT get in position down low once. 3) More aggression on defense. I think they played well defensively overall. But I'd like to see them implement more of the press (varieties, etc.) and continue their aggressiveness. I really think defense is our last concern. I fully realize my comments from last week are likely a result of the growing pains in having a new coach. But, if we're going to have any chance at all in knocking off Memphis, there needs to be a lot of improvement from last week. Attendance: 3,581

I'm guessing tonights game will be a lot more telling than the first exhibition game. Platteville actually has some decent size and talent on their team, so hopefully we will see a very good game. How well we play tonight will pretty much frame in my mind if we can beat Memphis or not next week. We need to be playing very well because after checking the box scores for Memphis in their past two game the are jacking up in excess of 40 shots every half. I want smooth offensive sets, and pressure defense all game long. I really don't want Jeter to let up on Platteville. Our guys need confidence and a full games worth of effort to get ready for next Tuesday.

Remember ... Bucks game as well tonight, so you might want to get to Goolsby's a tad bit earlier. Attendance will likely be down tonight too.

This game will be interesting for the attendance. the fact that the bucks are playing at home and that right now the buck's bandwagon is filling up rapidly, this will hurt our number. but i do expect a good student section like parkside and a good number of platteville people there. i dont expect us to beat the number of people at the parkside game. i would gess around 3500 but i wont be suprised if its closer to 3000.
Everyone should take the bus...parking prices double or triple on nights when the bucks or marquette play.
See everyone at goolsbys
