I don't think that when we put this game on the sked we expected it to be a no win situation for the Panthers and it really is. If we lose to Purdue we will get absolutly no respect nationally for the remainder of the year. If we beat Purdue, it won't be seen as anything special because they haven't won a game in two months and are horrible. This is a tough one, we need to dominate to really gain anything from this one. I was thinking the exact same thing. IMO, as a whole, the national (and even regional and local) basketball fan is not nearly as informed/educated (with respect to national bball landscape) as us "hard core" fans are, and unfortunately the criteria that many use to judge how good a team is, is record alone. Up until recently, many thought that, for example, GB and MU were great teams simply because of their records (if you don't think wins can be manufactured, you are sadly mistaken). Are these great teams, I sure don't think so......are they good teams? Probably, but time will tell. What I am getting at is that the to many, you are only as good as your record, or even your last outing. Given the season that Purdue is having, they are considered to be "bad" this year. Do I personally think that they are a "bad" team? No, not really......they are not a good Big 10 team, but they are still a decent squad. On the flip side, it is definitely a game that UWM can, and IMHO, should win. However, if things don't go well, a loss isn't nearly as bad as it may appear on paper. Conversely, if we win......to me it is still a pretty darn good win, regardless of what their record is. Hopefully Purdues reputation will hold some water and a win would be given appropriate credit. On a side not, Landry is a stud and will give us all we can handle.

Here is the info on Chumley's. It is more in the residential/commercial area of Lafayette. Not far from campus area, but not 'on/near' campus, if that makes sense. You will have to drive to campus, so be responsible.
Chumley's 122 N. 3rd St. Lafayette 765-420-9373
Mon - Sat: 11am - 3am Sunday: 11am - 12:30am
50 taps and 100 bottles. Pizza and a full menu of sandwiches at $6-$7.
Lots of TVs. Dean Keady show is televised from here.

Also www.harryschocolateshop.com/Harry's Chocolate Shop 329 West State St. 743-1467 This place is 'closer' than Chumley's and is cool. They have good food. Will probably still need a car to get to the areana. Good atmosphere. It is a 21 and older place though.

I will have to say Harry's. There is a parking lot/strip mall area right around the corner from Harry's. Easier parking, easier to find panther fans (i guess), and a little closer to campus. Not to try to influence this decision, but if no one going has been there before... I would say Harry's for convenience. I just hate to miss out on Chumleys
