Great game by Ed and the team. What a fantastic night for UWM. Clearly proven we are conference favorites.
That vast majority of college teams, even those in the top 25, would not play that well at Kansas. Huge "moral victory" (whatever that means) for our team.
I think we even outscored Kansas in the second. ;D

I definately have to agree with you on this one. McCants was lighting up the board during the middle of the game. Although i think he forced too many shots down the stretch which is ok i guess. But when KU started keying in on him i would have liked to see Tigert and Tucker(although he didnt have a stellar night) be more of a player there. But a MORAL victory for the panthers and what a great showing they put up against the #2 ranked team in the country

We won the 2nd 33-31 I believe. "Moral victory" is exactly the term I was using all night to describe this game. I think we showed a capability to hang with anyone, and if a few shots go down, I think we might have even pulled off a monumental upset. Now we have to make sure that we don't have any letdown against a game Manhattan team. I think BP will have the boys fired up and ready to kill though. Congrats to Ed on coming back to the land of the living shooters though. Sleep easy tonight, all is fine in PantherLand.

Hey Freak was Simion playing or was he hurt? Great showing, I was shocked to see it was so close. Looked like McCants finally woke up, but I seen in the play by play he missed his last four threes, but I guess when your playing agianst a team like that at the end It makes it hard to finish strong. But nice job.

Yeah, Simion was out. Which, would have probably changed the score even more in their favor, but we still played well against #2.

Good game, nice to see the offense get some swagger back. But please don't talk about moral victories... there are victories and losses, there are good efforts and bad efforts. "Moral" victories are still just losses. The truth is that we could have won this game if we didn't make so many stupid decisions. So, use this is a building block, but never use the crutch of calling something a "moral victory."

I have to respectfully disagree JD. Coming off of a 30-point drubbing to our intrastate rival in what was supposed to be OUR year, a lot of teams would fold up shop and take another beating. I don't really believe anyone here saw UWM WINNING this game, so I feel that this is really the best scenario I could have realistically hoped for. I understand what you're saying, but given the circumstances, I feel the Panthers did their school and their city (even if not enough people pay attention) proud.

This oughtta get us back in the top 100 RPI. Wisconsin losing to Marquette hurt us too. Hopefully they can get us those points back.

Moral victory or no moral victory this has to pumpup mr. ed mccants the star of the game!. SHOOTING 6-11 or 6-12 from the point line! That means he basically shot 50%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont care what anyone says, if you can do that against KU you are a rock star. FT: is it just me or were the guys blind folded, 3-11. COME ON! YOU HAVE TO MAKE THOSE. FT's are like having a money tree in your back yard. Its free! just think if we made 8 of those? oh well. Too Bad Joah didnt have his normal night. Hopefully they both will be on for confrence play. That would be dangerous! We can roll with the big boys!

Yes, welcome back Ed but... Why does Ed sit so much? ? I don't want to hear anything about how we press so much and we need to keep him fresh. Is he that out of shape that he gets winded easily? I know he's a jump shooter and needs his legs but come on. There are so many stoppages. Ed should be on the court more (what kind of lineup was in at the end of the first half?) Is James Wright a better option than Big D? I think not. That being said good effort all around. Hope this game is a springboard.

Shooting better from 3 pt. than FT. is not usually a good thing, but UWM loves to find ways to make things difficult. That was their vice of choice tonight.

Welcome back indeed!! This is exactly the game Ed needed to get back on track. Joah seemed out of sinc, but he still did grab 10 boards. All in all, I was pretty happy with the game. The true test will be when we play Manhattan....................lets keep the momentum going!
IMO, I think Ford needed a fire lit under his ass and today he showed glimpes of what we all hope he can do in the future. Does the board think it would be better to start him or have him coming off the bench as the 6th or 7th man?

Thats was a great game. They were a very athletic team and thanks to ed we were in the game, the entire game.
One concern i had is boo, if your shooting bad thats one thing, if your forcing shots when you shouldnt be thats another
Great Game and great effort, They played with heart tonight and never gave up, thats the team we are used to.
Go Panthers

Great game last night. Even with Joah pressing all game long, other players really stepped up. Ed was fantastic. Even late in the game, when his shots weren't falling (and actually BARELY not falling), he was being triple teamed, and still contributing with hustle and defense. It was great to see Ford contribute. I thought he really played a great game.
But, IMO, the most important thing was how the boys CONTINUALLY battled back from Kansas runs. Kansas had at least 3 big runs during the game. Instead of folding, the boys stepped up and made a run themselves. That's the sign of a mature team - a team with leaders. I hope that there is a lesson learned - to avoid giving up those runs - but it sure was nice to see our guys respond the way they did.
Great game.

great showing last night by milwaukee. if they hit their freethrows (that was irritating, no excusese there), if joah produces even half his offense we're maybe in a position to win that game. ed finally looked like the ed we've been watching for the past year and a half. ford made some nice contributions, AT was solid as usual, etc...
overall i'd say that's the kind of performance we can build off of. we need to get a win in manhattan to make this a successful road trip. not only will it help confidence but it will get us rolling into conference play. when this team comes together they're going to be a solid opponent for anyone.
this game may not have gone in the W column but i have to believe it's going to help us down the road immensely.
