Hi panther fans, I mop the floors at the uwm games and I always work near the student section. I think as fans we need to get our chants together because on one side they chant air ball then on the other side they start goin. It's a little off but hey the season just begun, ill give u guys the benefit of the doubt. Lets get our act together and become one. WE need to come together cuz i observe the younger generation of krazies and the older generation not getting along. WE need to stop this panther on panther hate and get our chants in synch. one love

I couldn't agree more we need one tall guy to lead the chants. The 5-4-3-2-1 inbound count down needs a leader big time! There are like 3 different tempos going on at the same time. What about uwmfootball? he's a tall guy. Use the hand motion like the Flordia State style to lead the airball chant. If madison can get 15,000 students at football games to sing in unison we can at the very least get airball together.

No can do, I am doing other things at games now to help the marketing experience (which has improved a lot this season, and more is to come)... DK is coming back from ASU. That will help. Thoughts?

That will help with D coming back. I assume he won't walk away from the student section.
Possibly the officers of the SBGC could organize 3 people to stand in front of the section, right, mid and left sides to coordinate. That used to work in the past.

I would be happy to stand there and bark some cheers, but however i do like to play close attention in tight games but i would still be cheering.............i did it all through high school, i was the man with a bullhorn
if anyone wants to designate a "cheer leader" in the student section i'd be more than happy to do it

DK is coming back but i dont know if hes gonna pull a UWM freak and sit in the stands or lead the crowd. (come back freak, unretire the dreads!) One thing to the younger generation though. The Bruce Pearl chant comes at the end of the game when the game is hand and only then. You never do that chant in the middle of the game. I look forward to meeting some of the younger generation and meshing with them. I will also be planning a mophead chant cuz hey you asked for it.

I say PeterPanthers should lead the cheers. He's like 6'5" and has long, curly, hair. You can't miss him. Plus he's usually hammered enough to yell anything without remorse.

I doubt it's necessarily who is specifically "running the show" as much as it is important to have the most vocal and involved fans up front that will show the more reserved fans in back that's it's ok to join in. They're all looking up front the whole time, so anyone that starts something should catch on.

I totally agree we shouldn't have a designated leader someone should just do it!I've been starting chants and such but I need some help from the officers of the club. I don't plan on missing any home games this season or any other season ;D, I will always be down in front and will lead anyone who will follow. I do agree that there is two different halfs of the student section. If we can get one person from each side like we had last year with Devin and Nate that would be a lot better. I would be willing to lead the side I am on if anyone else wants to lead the other side. I too am pretty drunk most of the time and will yell just about anything!

Notes should also be taken on when the proper time is to use a "BULLsh*t" chant or the "FUNDAMENTALS" chant. These two seem to get too easily used and not reserved for their true purpose.
Also too, instead of actually saying "BULLsh*t", it turns out that saying "PUSH IT" sounds much the same minus any vulgarity.

if Bullsh*t sounds the same why use push it? It conveys the same meaning and the only reason "push it" is used is because it is used at a PG environment like a high School game and you can get in trouble for saying "bullsh*t". I think we are all adults in the student section and can take a bit of "vulgarity" now and then. I for one don't feel like going back to my H.S. days of saying "push it". Also I think we have done a good job of using "Bullsh*t" and "fun-da-mentals", At least the side I am on. Once again another reson we should have a student section on the same page. BULL-sh*t: to be used on a questionable or BULLsh*t CALL! (pretty self explanitory) FUN-DA-MENTALS: used when the pther team screws up fundametally, i.e. a bad pass, traveling, etc...

The problem though is when people start chanting Bullsh*t at every call against UWM. Luckily most of us do know when the call warrants it, and you can tell. I recall an instance back at the KC a couple years ago when we had the whole arena yelling it, including Alums/Adults. It was definately a highlight!
