This post should help clarify the student "ticket" issue for all freshman and everyone who isn't sure about the Athletic departments policy. Students DO get in for FREE to all regular season games for EVERY single sport @ UWM. This is a great deal, which many schools our size do not offer!
The only games that students would have to pay for are the Horizon league playoffs and NCAA Tournament games as well as other post season tournament games such as the NIT. Even for the NCAA Soccer Tournament games, the Athletic department has given away free tickets to students in advance.

funny that you mention the NIT in your post, as that is exactly where Milwaukee will be going this season...again...and again next season as well, following by the season after that....
this year will be owned by ced banks, and I know that ed mccants' talent will rival his, but UIC will be successful once again.

UIC is going to be competitive in the Horizon League, but they will be switching places with UWM in regards to post season tournaments this year. The Horizon League needs a team that can stay close in the NCAA Tournament -- not another killing like UIC suffered last year!

lol, a loss to Kansas, who went on to the Elite 8, is much, MUCH more dignified than a loss to Boise State...
ouch.
also, don't take my mockery personal...it just spices things up when there's a friction between UWM and UIC. i hope the HL championship ends up again between UWM and UIC, and also again at the Cellular Arena.
also, who are UWM's other scoring threats besides McCants and Tigert? I only know about those two...

A little trash-talking is all in good fun, unless your Newfoundglory . I'm glad you feel that we are going to win the HL, since if you thought that UIC would win the league, the championship game would be at the Pav. I really hope you ment to say Tucker and not Tigert. Tigert wwill score his share this year, but McCants and Tucker will be the main two scorers. AS for UIC, you guys are going to have a tough time with no point this year. I assume McGee would start at point, but IMO the guy has weak handles. Who's going to start at the 3 for you guys? I can't wait for December 4th!!

IMO UIC will not be a great team this year, in fact they won't be a good team either. They only have Banks to go to and knowone else on the team really has the ability to score on offense. Also I think I remember a UWM team that went to the NCAA tourny and nearly pulled off the upset on a team that went to the sweet 16, not getting smoked by Kansas. That is a good representation of the Horizon league and that is what UWM will do this year. So that is my rant for now. Bring on the New season!

Sometimes, UIC does find a place in the sun. Most recently, the UWM Men's Soccer team fell to the Flames, at UIC's home field near Chicago's Loop. At the start of the match, UWM Men's Soccer was undefeated in conference play for 25 straight. Final score at the end of the match: UWM 25, Horizon League 1Photographic coverage of the Flames vs UWM Men's Soccer is now online at: johnjaymilwaukee.com/uwmpostStudents get in free to all Soccer events.

Please tell me you're joking, because you can't be serious. I think you'd find it difficult to get even UWM fans to agree with that. The only significant losses from last season are Bailey, who is not at all known for his scoring, and Aaron Carr, who was coming off the bench most of last year. Look for Banks to continue to dominate. Also, McGee may have weaker ball-handling skills but he is more of a scoring threat than Bailey (the guy has potential....he was on Wisconsin's squad before returning to Chicago). In addition, look for Bowen to have improved, and Poole, who was a huge recruit out of high-school, to be nearly dominant in the paint this year. And, we haven't even started talking about Armond Williams, Luther Boyd, and freshman Karl White, who is labeled as a Ced Banks clone with mad hops. I think UIC will be at least a little better than what you think....

i agree that uic will be better than some on this site believe they will be. However, last year was a fluke how we lost in the championship game. We are a more athletic team, we will bring back the full court press, and our inside game will be twice what it was last year.

You have average players, with one good player.
Is UIC a good team? YES
Will UIC Dominate? Most likly Not
Will Banks Dominate? He scores points but he can not play the whole game. Additionally looking to one player carry your team does not work. UWM has a much larger team this year, which will have greater defensive impact. Which means banks will get double teamed and hasseled forcing him to kick it to your lesser players at which point I wouldnt bet money on those players making their shots consistently.
Lets talk about those other players you listed, oh wait you never said jack about them. "They are going to improve" what does that mean.
Carr and Williams-this is were you should of started talking. Because no body really knows much about them and its hard to find anything due to the UIC web site only having information up to the 2000 season.
How much are they going to improve. Because a player who shoots 9-11 points per game, in my book is solid but average. I would not doubt that I can guess those two will get the same amount of playing time as they did last year.
McGee a good shooter.? I hate to tell you this but my buddies on the wisconsin squad said he really didnt have much but bad ball control. Do you think he went back to UIC bc it was better? Or because he would get playing time?
Its not that im intentioanlly being mean but if you are going to say your players are good I want to know why.
Let me show you what a dominant player looks like.
Ed McCants- do i need to go on. He was right behind Banks last year for points per game.(banks 18.4 McCants 17.1) Banks may of done a good job scoring but remeber McCants had to share shooting time with the with Dlyan Page who averged 20 points per game) So McCants basically did the same work as banks but with less oppertunities.
Joaha Tucker- Solid Player, another good Shooter for UWM, another person on the team who had less opertunities (than Banks) to shoot and still managed to pull out 12 points per game.
Tigert- I predict he will become a bigger scoring threat. This guy could play linebacker if he wanted too. I doubt anyone on UIC will have the power or the strenghth to defend him. Not to mention he a dangerous player to guard because if he does take his shot, he will kick it to McCants or Tucker for the two. This guy had 110 assists. This is the best weapon a basketball team can have. A big guy who can get in the paint and set up shots.
You wanna talk new comers- DEREK FORD! hes so big that you have to spell his name in caps. 6-10! His arms are longer than most peoples legs. (hyperboly)
Now you tell me whats so special about UIC

McGee did not simply return to Chicago. He was let go for violating major team rules at UW...not to mention a police report on top of that! He will be pretty good, but definitely not entirely what the Flames need. GO MILWAUKEE! Later, UWMfreak

Let's take McGee's "transfer" a bit further. His "violation of team rules" involved an alleged rape. This should definitely come out at some point during the games against UIC - preferably from our student section.

If that last link doesn't work... Troy Cotton a 6'1" junior shooting guard has told the poor man's coach K he's going to UW-Green Bay.
