Let's see: There's no need at all, guys, to bring up the alleged rape. No formal charges were ever brought and it would be VERY poor form. Now, on to basketball. To say that UIC won't be a good team is a major stretch, to say the least. Contrary to what anyone at the Green Bay news rag would have you believe, UIC remains our No. 1 rival and the team we must beat to get to the Big Dance for certain. That having been said, it's a distinct possibility that both teams will go to the Dance. We return four starters and they return three. There's nothing to suggest that these won't be two (and very likely three) knock-down, drag-out classics. Otherwise, why would ESPN put the games on national TV? I can't believe I'm saying this: Good luck, Flames, against Georgia Tech and Duke. It would be good for the league.

I agree with dylanrocks, McGee is inocent, period. If he had come to UWM instead of UIC, we would and should be defending him, and anyone else on our team that is inocent, until proven guilty, in a Court of Law. I read the article referenced in the link many months ago and I am not a liberal by anyone's definition. However... A plea bargain is not proof of truth or true guilt. A plea bargain is a quick solution to an unfortunate situation where a very powerful government prosecuter has all the cards and all the money. The defendent may or may not be truly guilty, even after a deal is cut. Had a jury trial been held, perhaps taking two years or more, the outcome might have been quite different, as all the facts of the case were examined in the light of day. I apologize for not having much faith in our justice system, which is overburdened and slanted to favor those with deep pockets. The Milwaukee Journal's MARK STEWART writes: "If he completes the program successfully and avoids further arrests, the charges will be dismissed, leaving his record clean." www.jsonline.com/badger/bkb/may03/139106.aspIf the charges were dropped, and the case dismissed, the man is innocent and the man should not be harrassed regarding this incident. His record is clean. Per the Case Detail:Agreement fulfilled on 05-21-2004 On 05-21-2004 there was a finding of: Action Court Official Dismissed /Pr Motion Martin, James L On 05-07-2003 there was a finding of: Action Court Official Dismissed /De Motion Higginbotham, Paul B wcca.wicourts.gov/caseDetails.do;jsessionid=4C82EA924E4CE61B2715A19A2B8C8A44.render3?countyNo=13&caseNo=2002CF001733&cacheId=9E02BE86CB6AB385E6532AC54E8D9438&recordCount=1&offset=0#charge_detail

wow. that's an amazing story. It's a shame that our legal system allows stuff like this to go unpunished. This also say's alot though about the character of UIC's coach collins and their players. If this guy was the second coming of michael jordan, I wouldn't want a rapist on my basketball team.

My bad, Hack. I didn't have all the facts. Nonetheless, I still believe we need to be above all this and concetrate on some good-natured ribbing of our fickle Chicago counterparts. Perhaps some playful jibes at Whining Sammy and the Cubs.

As for Troy Cotton, it's pretty clear that we hadn't offered him yet and I'm not so sure there's a great market for a 6-2 shooting guard. We'll have only one scholarship available for '07 (Derrick Wimmer's) and there are plenty of other directions to go. By the way, GB is now virtually out of scholararships through '07, unless, of course, the poor man's Coach K chases everyone not tied down out of the program.

Perhaps some playful jibes at Whining Sammy and the Cubs. Last time I checked I wasn't at a baseball game and the people of Milwaukee are the last people to take a shot at someone else's baseball misfortunes. If the student section starts a "rapist" chant at him like they did last year, I won't have a problem with it. He shouldn't get off scott-free for his actions. Rapists, child molesters, etc., are the lowest form of scum around.

Hacktheplanet brings up an interesting conundrum. . Lets say, certain people who know about this figure out a funny cheer to say while McGee is playing. I could fore see a cheer that is really distaste full and hurtfull. Like (McGee forced his Pee Pee in a Girl while she was A Sleep Sleep) Things like this are more on the risky` side. Is this bad? Well….. what he did was really gross and how he pretty much got away with it makes me want to vomit. However, There are little kids at the basketball game and we might want to think about our actions affecting their minds. Remember the goal of our program is to expand, which means our players an our fans must set a good example. Here’s why, at anytime we (as a whole) are evaluated by possible incoming players. Not only the players themselves but the significant people closely related to them that can influence their decision. Now, this is a big ethical question to digest. Should the rape come up in our chants? First lets look at what he did. His criminal court description was posted on the Wisconsin court access. The link is listed below. This charge was originally a felony charge and then it got bumped down to probation. wcca.wicourts.gov/caseDetails.do;jsessionid=4C82EA924E4CE61B2715A19A2B8C8A44.render3?countyNo=13&caseNo=2002CF001733&cacheId=9E02BE86CB6AB385E6532AC54E8D9438&recordCount=1&offset=0#charge_detailLook at the link above, it is his Court description. Had he been fully prosecuted he would of spent at least a year in jail in which Bubba would of prolly found him attractive and knocked out some front teeth. I doubt he would have been playing much basketball then. This comes to my next point in this metaphysical rant. McGee is now a role model for younger kids in Chicago. That is horribly disgusting and I will do something about it. In all respect dlypagerocks, I believe there is nothing you can do to stop me from chanting whatever I want. You can not stop other people chanting whatever they want. If you want to be positive about this I believe you might want to formulate some cheers to lead our crowd in. If you don’t, most certainly they will say what they want and I bet it will not be very appropriate. Here are some of my suggestions; the crowd could chant her name, the crowd could sing the cops theme song, the crowd could chant his lawyers name (Eisenberg, Stephen J), the crowd could chant the prosecuting lawyers name (Hayward, Gretchen L) Or my favorite, (NO MEANS NO!) In the end, I want to rattle him, not only because it will effect his play, but we could have a whole student section making this guys realize what he did. I do not know how he feels but his quotes are crap, this guy did something totally wrong. We need to stand up for that girl, and make sure this doesn’t happen again. We’ve been given a unique opportunity. We have to use, but use in an appropriate manner.

Why is there so much discussion on McGhee? No one said anything about him being all that.
When it comes to Point Guards this season, UIC is very thin. I never said anything about UIC being the "best" in the HL in any of my posts on this board.
UIC has many, MANY weaknesses this season, and I do not fear acknowledging that. However, from the few strengths that we have, I believe that we will still be extremely competitive.
With the loss of Bailey, we really have to depend on McGhee. I'm not saying he's all that, but he is decent. If you remember the HL Title game at the Cell, he played most of the game because Bailey was playing horribly, and he did a superior job in getting what he had to do done.
The backbone to our squad is Ced Banks, Elliot Poole (our monster power forward), Armond Williams, and Justin Bowen. The freshman Karl White is a "Ced Banks clone" according to Coach C.
I know UWM has incredible guys, but what I'm saying is that UIC will be very competitve this season, despite our losses of Bailey and center Joe Scott.

IMHO UIC will be tough..........no ifs, ands, or buts about it. UIC has some talent coming back, as well as some new players (and some who will be asked to play much more than in the past) who will be asked to step in and fill some pretty big shoes. Do I personally think that UIC is/will turn out to be THE best team in the HL........No........but I definitely think they are in the mix and will be knocking on the championship door.

One point of contention with the UIC crowd: Tucker only made a shot now and then because, quite simply, he wasn't on the floor. Instead, he was on the bench in foul trouble. The coaching staff has been working tirelessly trying to get him to play defense with his feet instead of his arms and hands. If Joah can stay in the game, he's capable of scoring 18 points a night. Bank on it.

dylanrocks is right on this point. Tucker was always a factor in games where he managed to stay out of foul trouble. too many times last year he took himself out of games early on with quick fouls. if he wants to be the impact player he should be this year, he needs to pick up his defensive play. we need him to step up in a big way if we hope to have an effective half court game without Page.

Last who the hell cares about Mcgee, there are so many f*** ups in this world, you can look at the whole NBA does that mean your not going to chear for your team, A guy does something so stupid but you know what in this messed up world all people seem to get second chances so i could care less about what he likes to do in his off time. However you can make all the chants you want, cause last year in the final 2 min. Mcgee ran the clock out on your season. Wow, how bout we have the Wisconsin football team run a train on you. I sure as hell wont care what they do in their off time. jk, acutally i would. I hope your butt stays the way you like it. This is serious business now, college basketball is one of the last sports in the nation that has players playing to good. There is actually some honor in playing on a college basketball team. Someone like McGee reminds of the really bad stuff people can get away with due to the fact that they can play basketball. 2nd chances, he never exhausted his first, he got scott free. What if it was your gf? or your mom? how many second chances would you give him then. You pretending that it doesnt matter really reminds me of the nba. why dont you just give up college and go straight to watching the nba. You will like it better there. Just remeber, you represent your school weather you like it or not and i wouldnt want anybody getting any deductions about your school due to your comments. So you also said that Tucker will score a ton of points what leads you to believe this last year he was really just a couple of shots here and there player. If i use your idea i could say that since Baily is gone and Carr that Williams will score 20 and Banks will score 28 a game. Ok, if you dont understand my anaylsis dont use it for yourself. Your top scoring is returning. Our top scorer is leaving. major difference. please review your local econmics text book, under probability, and exponetial growth. uhhhh, youre not worth another word.

If you go to UWM, what makes you so interested in UIC? Why do you post so much on their board? Why does your location indicate Normal, IL? On a side note, you were doing pretty well at actually having a somewhat intelligent conversation/banter going.........why did you feel the need to start name calling and using profanities?
