I say we play tough, and come out and try to win Thanks John Madden I think the key to the Panthers winning this game is that we MUST score more points than Bradley does. If we can do that, I'm sure the team will come home with a victory.

1) Their local paper is a Wisconsin paper we can easily access This makes absolutely no sense. You can access indystar.com just as easily as greenbaypressgazette.com. uwgb is a rival, if not our biggest rival ... Think of it this way ... what if, hypothetically of course, Butler fell completely off the map over the next few years ... to Youngstown State levels? Would you still consider them a rival and would the games be as important? Now, replace Butler with uwgb ... think that would still be a big game, with state bragging rights on the line and recruiting purposes? I guess what I meant is that we all know what paper covers them, who the writers are, etc. without doing any searches

Right now Butler is our biggest rival. PERIOD.
That might change next year or the year after but right now it's Butler. And yes you will see more comments about UWGB than about Butler on this board. That's primarily due to two reasons: 1) Their local paper is a Wisconsin paper we can easily access 2) Their comments their coach makes beg to be diced up on a fan board.

I admire your passion, but that's just wrong. It's the guy's B-Day. He knows they lost. Rubbing it in just makes us look like jerks.

I may miss the first half. We promised my partner's daughter we'd take her to the Circus in Madison on Sunday. But with the weather forecast for yet another blizzard on Sunday we had to move it to Saturday. Unfortunately, a 3 year old isn't going to understand that watching the pmck's circus is more important than the circus with four legged animals

Of course RJ can be criticized. My partner was really upset with him for not calling time outs on any of our last possessions. I was too until I heard RJ's explanation in his post game interview.
He said the plays were called during the last time out and he didn't want to give Butler a chance to set up a defense against them. He said that it was better to get them on their heels when they're scrambling to get into position.
After thinking about it, I agree. We had some difficulty getting the ball inbounds more than a few times. And if the play had already been called what would be the point of calling a time out?
The fact is that we missed a ton of FT's, had some poor shot selection and we were unfairly deprived of Skinner's help (due to some horrible calls) for much of the second half. That's what cost us the game and not using a time out to call a play for a second time.
Anytime you lose the coach shares the responsibility. However, just as a player who makes 70% of his shots shouldn't be blamed when that last one didnt' go in, you shouldn't be blaming a coach who did so many things right to put this team into a position to win.

im just saying to the people that question anothony's skill, he is a good player, hes young and will develop to a college game very soon. give him a break, i mean he can play ball and was recruited by one of the best, if not the best recruiter in the state. I don't think anyone his skills or his work ethic. The question was why isn't he getting more minutes. The answer is that he's not ready for more minutes right now. It was not that he'll never be ready.

I agree that with some practice, Athony will be a fine player. Deonte will be great too, but he needs to work on more than how he finishes. At times he rushes the lane and seems out of control.

Last night answered the question of why we aren't seeing more of him. He must have missed at least six or seven bunny layups.

Athony will be a great player for us. He just needs some time to develop.

I really don't understand how people can say Rob did a poor job. He took a team that was missing 60% of its preseason starting line up, a team that shot 60% from the line and 33% for the game and still had it in a position to win. Not only is that NOT a poor job, it's pretty dam amazing.
PS I really don't want to hear how Butler played a poor game. Give our guys some credit for making them play that way.

I hope you're wrong but I have a feeling you are correct. This weather is miserable and starting the game at 6 won't help any. People will have to fight the traffice to get downtown

The thing about Butler is that you can't relax when you play them. They pulled out a close win late in the game at Valpo and now did the same thing at UWGB.
It will be interesting to see how we come out. The 10 day layoff will either be a blessing and we'll be rested and ready or we'll be rusty and find it hard to get in our zone.
